A new 22-minute interview video with Linkin Park members Phoenix, Emily Armstrong and Mike Shinoda has been uploaded by Billboard News. Billboard executive Jason Lipshutz chats with the band mainly about the bonus tracks that are appearing on the upcoming deluxe edition of From Zero, releasing in just over a week from now. The musicians explain that these bonus songs were worked on and finished while the band was on tour promoting From Zero in late 2024, something Linkin Park doesn't typically do. Shinoda also mentions that "Up From the Bottom" is the only one of the three that came about entirely post-album.
Among the highlights is a description of the one still-unreleased song "Let You Fade", as covered in Billboard's corresponding article:
[...] “Let You Fade” started off as a not-as-loud song on a demo that just didn’t make the cut before the group pivoted to a piano-and-vocals only arrangement that was transformed into a song that starts off really loud and goes quiet on the bridge. “That piano and vocal thing was the second demo [we recorded during the initial sessions],” Shinoda said. “Of the three it’s probably my favorite.”When Lipshutz inquires about the possibility of more new songs coming from Linkin Park, the band members explain that, while these songs were completed in the midst of tour dates, they don't plan on continuing that habit. In the meantime, the deluxe edition of From Zero drops on May 16.
The band members are also asked about putting together the tour setlists. As an avid Linkin Park listener, Lipshutz gives a shoutout to the band's fourth album, 2010's A Thousand Suns, while Phoenix explains his view of the collective thought process behind choosing what songs to play and some of the challenges involved in developing and learning the sets.
Other highlights in the interview include Shinoda ranting about having to do dances for TikTok, and describing the joy he got from emotionally manipulating fans with the infamous countdown.

Everyone, make sure to wish Emily Armstrong a happy birthday!
Raleigh, North Carolina and Linkin Park don't have a lot of history. Only three times before has the band played in the city, and for only two of those shows do we know what they played. In November 2000, the band played a show in the city for the first time, but we do not know exactly what they played. Raleigh missed out on the large-scale touring the band did for the Hybrid Theory and Meteora cycles, but in 2007, the band finally made their return to the city on that year's Projekt Revolution tour. At Linkin Park's latest performance in Raleigh, we got some nice classic songs that we miss and would like to see make their return to the set these days. Songs like "No More Sorrow", "Wake 2.0", "The Little Things Give You Away", and "Shadow of the Day" would all be welcome returns, and none of them would sound wrong coming from the current lineup of the band.
In 2018, Mike Shinoda stopped by for a show on his Monster Energy Outbreak Tour, first rehearsing eight songs and then playing a full set. The show included favorites from that tour like "When They Come for Me", "Lift Off" with a random rap verse in the bridge, "Crossing a Line", "About You/Over Again/Papercut", and many more. Check out the video below for a good performance of "Crossing a Line".
Baltimore was the latest show the band played, and it was a great one! We got a few surprises in the setlist, starting with "Points of Authority" returning to the live shows for the first time this year. It took the first rotation spot of the night, meaning that it is now rotating with "Lying From You" and "Cut the Bridge" Next in the rotation spots, we come to Mike's solo medley. With Mike on his mission to now rap a different verse at every show over the extended transition, at this show, we got his verse from the Nick Catchdubs remix of "I'll Be Gone" off of RECHARGED. This was the first time that verse had appeared in a Linkin Park show since 2015. For the rotation spot that usually houses either "Over Each Other" or "Good Things Go", we instead got the live debut of "Stained"! This song was one of the only two remaining off of From Zero that hadn't been played live yet, so we're just waiting for "IGYEIH" to be played live as well. For the last rotation spot, we got another performance of the mega live classic "A Place for My Head",
Oh yeah, grandson also came out to help the band out with "One Step Closer". Even though he has been opening for the band for many shows since this album cycle suddenly kicked off in September of last year, he had not appeared on stage with the band for any songs. grandson obviously has history with the song, having done a cover of it back in 2020 for the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary. You think he'll continue coming out for the song on the rest of this tour?
So we only have three shows left on this leg of the tour after this show, and while we've gotten plenty of surprises the whole year, are there more coming? As stated earlier, from the standard edition of From Zero, "IGYEIH" is the only song left to be played, and if we count the deluxe version of the album, we also have "Unshatter" and "Let You Fade" remaining to see performed live. Is now the time to bring out some of those songs? What about songs that were talked about before the tour started? Songs like "LIES GREED MISERY" "Blackout" and "QWERTY" all had plenty of speculation around them, but they're nowhere to be seen in the current setlists.
So what do you think? Will we get any surprises in the set for Emilys birthday?
After this show, the band heads down south to Greenville, South Carolina on May 8, with just another three shows left before taking a couple of weeks to rest up for a crazy busy summer.
Remaining shows:
May 8, 2025: Greenville, SC
May 10, 2025: Columbus OH - Sonic Temple
May 17, 2025: Daytona Beach, FL - Welcome To Rockville

Linkin Park makes a grand return to Baltimore, Maryland tonight with a stop at the CFG Bank Arena as part of their 2025 U.S. tour promoting From Zero, with grandson as opener. This is another city that the band hasn't played in for a very long time.
The state of Maryland has only seen four Linkin Park shows to date. Two of those performances have been in Baltimore, the first of which was a show on December 2, 2000 at a bar venue called Fletcher's. This was one of several North American headline shows the band played to close out the year 2000, after spending most of November playing support on P.O.D.'s Kings of the Game U.S. tour.
Linkin Park did not return to Baltimore again until 2008, with a show at 1st Mariner Arena. This was part of a North American run in February that year in support of the 2007 album Minutes to Midnight. The band's rotating setlists varied quite wildly during this tour cycle, and this particular show opened with "No More Sorrow" and "Don't Stay", the latter rarely appearing so early in the set during this time. Other highlights include the appearance of Minutes to Midnight deep cuts "Valentine's Day" and "The Little Things Give You Away", and Mike Shinoda delivering a verse from "Petrified" over the extended "Points of Authority" intro. For most of the 2008 tour legs, "One Step Closer" typically either closed the main set or kicked off the final encore, as was the case in Baltimore:
Tonight's show in Baltimore will be the fourth on this 2025 U.S. leg, and Linkin Park has delivered quite a few surprises throughout the first three, rotating a variety of songs in and out of the set. Most recently, Grand Rapids, MI saw the first performance of Hunting Party fan-favourite "Keys to the Kingdom" on this tour leg - a total contrast to the "When They Come for Me / Remember the Name" medley preceding it, and also only the second time "Keys" has been performed all year.
Other fresh additions for this tour leg include "Cut the Bridge", recent single "Up From the Bottom", and the Fort Minor song "Where'd You Go", still being performed as a lead-in to "Waiting for the End" - apparently, Emily Armstrong's requests can be quite compelling.
Shinoda has also been keeping fans on their toes with things like spontaneously delivering rap verses from LP and Fort Minor songs like "UNTIL IT BREAKS" and "Petrified" (returning again!), referencing other artists' songs during the extended "Overflow" intro, and now also prompting drummer Colin Brittain to switch the drumming style for the "Numb / Encore" intro every night. In addition, a fringe theory has been spreading among some Linkin Park fans, suggesting that Emily has secretly been singing "toothpaste / caught in the Lidl" during performances of "Two Faced" ...
Following the live debuts of "Cut the Bridge" and "Up From the Bottom", there's now the possibility that more of the band's newer songs will be brought into the live sets, including the recent single "Unshatter" and From Zero deep cuts such as "IGYEIH" - that's obviously not even mentioning Linkin Park's rich catalog of pre-From Zero songs which this new line-up hasn't attempted to play live yet.
If you're going to this show, or just breathlessly waiting to watch a recording of it because you won't be there, come and let us know on our message board!
Phoenix and Emily Armstrong have been running point so far when it comes to promoting Linkin Park's 2025 U.S. shows in interviews, but their fellow band member Mike Shinoda is taking his turn now with a pair of interviews being released today. Funnily enough, both are for programs or radio stations which Phoenix and Armstrong also made appearances on in early April.
The first a chat with DC101 host Mike Jones, which immediately kicks off with Jones asking about the now-infamous Linkin Shark, a highlight of the U.S. tour's opening night in Austin, Texas.
Throughout this interview, Shinoda also touches on the changes Linkin Park experienced in their journey towards announcing a big return to music in 2024. He explains Brad Delson's current role in the band, and also gives a mention to former band member Rob Bourdon, along with talking about new members Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain (and even touring guitarist Alex Feder) filling in the gaps and infusing Linkin Park with fresh new energy. The conversation ends on a light-hearted note with Shinoda going in-depth about his hands-on experience with Nintendo's highly-anticipated hybrid console, the Switch 2.
Second is an interview on 98 Rock Baltimore's afternoon program Kirk and Marianne, where hosts Kirk McEwen and Marianne Sierk, respectively, speak to Shinoda ahead of Linkin Park's imminent May 3 show at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore.
During this conversation, Shinoda talks about the process of Emily Armstrong becoming an official member of Linkin Park, and the unusual challenge of connecting a changed line-up with a deep existing catalog of music. He also reflects on the success of From Zero lead single "The Emptiness Machine", and casually reveals that he used to participate in (and win) rap battles on the Internet.
Check out both these interviews and, if you can find Shinoda's old rap battle posts, please stop by our message board and tell us where!

It's time for our weekly LPTV: From Zero episode! This week we're looking at the making of for the third single off of From Zero, 'Over Each Other'. There is a lot of vocal recording in this episode, but we start off looking at the song with a brief clip from December 2022. Mike, Dave, and Joe are listening to a early version of the song with vocals by Mike and a different sounding instrumental in Mikes home studio, before we flash forward to the Eastwest Studios in February 2024 where we spend most of the episode in the vocal booth with Emily. We then finally fast forward to June 2024 where Brad is providing notes on the song back in Mike's home studio. Check out the episode below.
What do you think of the new episode? Are you looking forward to seeing the episode for 'Casualty' next week? Come and discuss in our forums.

Time for another show where Linkin Park hasn't played a show in the city for a really long time! Tonight, the band will be playing at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The last time the band played a show in Grand Rapids was on November 21, 2001, making it 23 and a half years ago that the city got a show. Like with many shows from the band's earliest years, not much is known in terms of setlist or anything special that happened, so there's not really anything to talk about there. A show was scheduled to take place on February 4, 2015 but had to be cancelled because Chester Bennington broke his leg on the Hunting Party tour.
Thankfully though, for us to have something to talk about, the band has played other shows in Michigan, so let's talk about some of those! Michigan has fortunately gotten some professionally-filmed shows, including the 2003 MTV $2 Bill show in Detroit on the Meteora cycle, and the 2007 Projekt Revolution show in Clarkston that was filmed/streamed online by MySpace.
Detroit 2003
Clarkston 2007
But let's focus on the latest show the band played in Michigan, which was a show in Clarkston in 2014, when they were out on the Carnivores tour for The Hunting Party. Let's take a quick look at "Given Up" from that show.
Huh, I guess Erynn Halvorson has been doing this for a while?!
Three years after that show took place, Linkin Park had a show scheduled in Clarkston again, but, due to the passing of Chester Bennington, the entire tour obviously had to be cancelled. Mike Shinoda did, however, stop by Michigan the next year when he visited Detroit on his Monster Energy Outbreak Tour during the Post Traumatic cycle.
Alright, brief history lesson = done! Let's talk about the previous show in Tulsa, Oklahoma!
For the first show in Tulsa, Oklahoma in almost 25 years, the band pulled off a total banger! How about pulling out a new song in the second spot on the setlist?! That's right, for the second show in a row, the band pulled out another live debut, this time being the full version of "Cut the Bridge"! Previously, the song's bridge verse was featured over the bridge on "Bleed It Out", but, now, we finally get the full song. Check it out below:
For his solo medley, Mike brought out the second verse for When They Come for Me. This is the first time in MANY years that the second verse of the song has shown up live in a Linkin Park show (yes, it was performed on the Post Traumatic and 2015 Fort Minor tours. I know. I said Linkin Park.) - the last time was the last time the band performed the full song, all the way back on January 10, 2014.
The band played "Good Things Go". That's all that needs to be said about that in order to justify posting a video of it.
For the third rotation spot in the setlist (the previous two were 'Cut the Bridge' and 'Good Things Go'), the band pulled out 'From the Inside' again. This song was rotated in, replacing 'A Place for My Head' from the previous show in Austin, Texas.
And, for the last video of this post, let's take a look at 'Heavy Is the Crown', where Emily pulled out the full scream on the bridge for the first time. Earlier, she either shortened the scream or split it into two shorter ones, like what Chester used to do on the 'Given Up' bridge.
If you don't want to just check out the specific special moments mentioned above, here's a full recording of the show to enjoy.
After this show, the band continues the tour with a stop in Baltimore, Maryland on May 3, with another four shows left before taking a couple of weeks to rest up for a crazy busy summer.
Remaining shows:
May 3, 2025: Baltimore, MD
May 6, 2025: Raleigh, NC
May 8, 2025: Greenville, SC
May 10, 2025: Columbus OH - Sonic Temple
May 17, 2025: Daytona Beach, FL - Welcome To Rockville

Tonight, the From Zero World Tour is coming to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linkin Park will be playing a show at BOK Center, an arena, with support from grandson.
Some would say Linkin Park has had quite a history when it comes to Oklahoma, actually beginning with two performances in Tulsa in late 2000. Firstly, on October 12, 2000 (so before the Hybrid Theory release), the band performed at a venue called Cain's Ballroom as a support act for Kottonmouth Kings on their Ridin' High tour, with session bassist Scott Koziol still part of their touring line-up. Then, later that year on November 20, they returned to the same venue again, this time playing a support slot for P.O.D.'s Kings of the Game tour - founding member Phoenix returned to the Linkin Park line-up just prior to this tour leg, making it his first tour with the band for the Hybrid Theory cycle.
Linkin Park has not returned to Tulsa since, but they have stopped in Oklahoma a few times. On December 12, 2000, the band performed at a place called Travel & Transportation Building (AKA the T&T Building) in Oklahoma City, supporting Papa Roach on their Master Bay Tour 2000. On February 18, 2002, there was headline show at Jim Norick Arena in Okahoma City on the very first U.S. Projekt Revolution tour. This was essentially the band's only tour leg in 2002, as they spent most of the year working on their sophomore album Meteora. Two years later, on the Meteora World Tour, the band played a show at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, OK on February 22, 2004.
Years later, Linkin Park returned to Oklahoma City and played at Ford Center on February 29, 2008, part of a North American leg of the Minutes to Midnight touring cycle. This headline show was notable for a number of setlist changes, mostly to accommodate Chester Bennington being ill but not wanting to cancel the show. Various songs were swapped out, or moved elsewhere in the set, or shortened, while a few songs were altogether skipped and not replaced.
On May 23, 2015, Linkin Park was ready to perform as headliners at the Rocklahoma festival in Pyror, OK, but an extreme weather event prompted the organisers to cancel that set. After that, Linkin Park was scheduled to perform a headline show at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City in August of 2017; unfortunately, Chester Bennington's sudden passing in late July 2017 led to Linkin Park going on an immediate hiatus, cancelling all tour dates on the schedule for that year and bringing the One More Light album cycle to a halt.
All of this means that tonight's show at BOK Center in 2025 marks Linkin Park's first show in Oklahoma since 2008 - not just that, but also the band's first time performing in Tulsa since 2000 - it's been a long time coming, and fans attending can look forward to LP's triumphant return with the new line-up they unveiled last year.
This is the second show in this 2025 North American stint in support of 2024 album From Zero, and it has a lot to live up to after the tour's opening night in Austin. Linkin Park didn't deliver a wildly-different setlist to their usual as of late, but this new setlist, A5, did have some curveballs here and there. "Lying From You" appeared very early in the setlist for the first time this year, having been in the first act occasionally for the 2024 shows, which relegated "Crawling" to the third song. This show also saw the live debut of the band's recent single "Up From the Bottom", taking the spot in the set where "Over Each Other" has been for every other 2025 show to date; "Over Each Other" was instead played between "Lost" and "What I've Done" with "Good Things Go" consequently omitted.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was "Waiting for the End" being prefaced with a transposed and shortened arrangement of the Fort Minor signature hit "Where'd You Go", with Emily Armstrong and Mike Shinoda delivering vocals and Colin Brittain playing drums. This was the first time the song has ever been incorporated into a Linkin Park show, but some LP fans will no doubt recall Shinoda's "Waiting for the End / Where'd You Go" mash-up, a staple of his Post Traumatic live sets throughout 2018 and 2019.
Much later on in the set, in the middle of the "When They Come for Me / Remember the Name" medley, Shinoda also surprised the Austin crowd with a verse from the LIVING THINGS deep cut "UNTIL IT BREAKS", marking the song's first appearance in a Linkin Park live set since 2017 (though it did appear occasionally in Shinoda's 2018-2019 Post Traumatic shows). Lastly, he delivered a verse from the Fort Minor B-side "There They Go" during the bridge of "Bleed It Out", the first time this has happened in a 2025 set.
While much of the set wasn't significantly different from what we've come to expect off previous 2025 shows, these surprise throwbacks were nonetheless very exciting and welcome. Linkin Park fans going to tonight's Tulsa show will no doubt be waiting to see if these new additions to the set remain, or if there are other surprises coming. The band's most recent single, "Unshatter", has yet to be performed, for instance, and there are still some songs on From Zero that haven't made their live debuts either ...
Whether you're attending this show or just desperately hoping someone livestreams it for you to watch from home, come and discuss it on our message board!
After a two-month break from touring and the release of two singles from the upcoming From Zero deluxe edition, Linkin Park is about to start up another leg of live shows! To kickstart this next stretch of their 2025 world tour, the band is starting with a performance in Austin, Texas, capital of the Lone Star State. They'll be taking the stage tomorrow, with opening support by grandson, in the Moody Center arena at the University of Texas.
Austin has been having a multi-day Linkin Park takeover leading up to this show, with several local businesses hosting activities and pop-up shops with exclusive merch offered to attendees of this From Zero Fest. Among the businesses partnering is the chain Torchy's Tacos, started in Austin, which yesterday offered the exclusive and iconic "Linkin Pork" taco. Also of note is a handsome porcine mascot with a Linkin Park hat featured on social media promotion; the band has also featured it on some of the exclusive From Zero Fest merchandise.

Suffice to say, Linkin Pork Park is going ham for their visit to Austin.

The band also hosted a local Linkin Park Underground listening party for the upcoming deluxe edition of From Zero, meaning residents of Austin in the LPU have been the first in the world to hear the remaining unreleased song, "Let You Fade."
Linkin Park has a storied history in Texas, having an entire live album (Live in Texas) dedicated to outtakes from two back-to-back performances in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area on Metallica's 2003 Summer Sanitarium tour. However, their touring history in Austin specifically is quite limited. In fact, this is the first time in over 24 years that Linkin Park has performed in the city! The band's last performance in Austin was on October 14, 2000, opening for Kottonmouth Kings on their Ridin' High tour. Their only other known Austin performance was two months prior on August 12, 2000, supporting Union Underground on their An Education in Rebellion tour. This will be their first performance in Austin as headliners, now armed with eight albums of material since their last visit, before the release of their debut album. A lot has changed since then!
"A Place for My Head," from Phoenix, Arizona, just three days after the band's first visit to Austin in August 2000.
There is one slight caveat to this: Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington did come to Austin to feature during a show by rock supergroup Camp Freddy in December 2012. Mike and Chester featured on several covers, including their own Linkin Park hit "One Step Closer." Austin has most likely heard the song performed by Chester and Mike three times, in technicality!
Chester and Mike performing "One Step Closer" alongside Camp Freddy members Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, Chris Chaney, Donovan Leitch, and Billy Morrison.
In terms of setlist, it seems likely Linkin Park will make some tweaks but keep things relatively consistent with the new setlist debuted earlier this year. The band's Mexico and Asia runs remained relatively consistent, rotating between an A, B, and C setlist in order. These setlists shift the transitional pieces used for the setlist, as it was with their 2024 sets, and have two rotating song slots:
Set B: "Iridescent" transition theme; "Keys to the Kingdom" in Act 2 rotation slot; "Lying from You" in Act 5 (encore)
Set C: "BURN IT DOWN" transition theme; "Given Up" in Act 2 rotation slot; "From the Inside" in Act 5 (encore)
Fans also saw the live debuts of the From Zero tracks "Good Things Go" and "Overflow," a new hybrid version of "Lost" combining the piano ballad format with the studio version, the return of "From the Inside" for the first time since the band's final performance with Chester, and a new extended bridge for "Bleed It Out" featuring Mike's bridge verse from "Cut the Bridge."
The band performing "Overflow" in Jarkarta, Indonesia.
There has been plenty of speculation about setlist changes for the 2025 From Zero world tour as time has gone on—from Mike's asides about Emily Armstrong liking "Blackout" and "LIES GREED MISERY" to Colin Brittain's comment on TikTok about the fan-favorite deep cut "QWERTY" being a "good song" they could rehearse. Any one of these songs making a return would be a great surprise for fans. The band laid a few surprises on Texas fans on their last visit to the state, in Arlington, including the first-ever performance of "All for Nothing" from The Hunting Party, so it seems hard to rule anything out entirely these days. It's also possible the band could debut "Stained" or "IGYEIH" tomorrow, the only songs from the album yet to be performed live in any capacity; they wasted no time bringing out "Overflow" and "Good Things Go" in January!
Linkin Park's live debut of "All for Nothing," from their last Texas visit in 2024!
Two additional obvious picks for addition to the band's setlist are the singles "Up from the Bottom" and "Unshatter." The former will be just under a month old by the time they take the stage at Moody Center, while "Unshatter" has just been released as of today. The high-energy songs both would be perfect fit to add energy to the band's set. Will fans get to see live performances of Joe Hahn's "Up from the Bottom" DJ solo or the heavy guitar riffage of "Unshatter" tomorrow?
The band's visualizer video for "Unshatter"
We will see what surprises Linkin Park has in store! The band are certainly hyping up their performance in Austin sufficiently with the city takeover.
Are you going to this show? Will you be watching for any fan livestreams? Do you think the band will be packing any big surprises for their return to Austin? Come discuss in our forums!
It seems we may be getting a slow-drip release of behind-the-scenes footage for the creation of From Zero! This is the third week in a row we have gotten an episode of LPTV for a song on From Zero, and we are continuing in chronological order with "Heavy Is the Crown," the album's second single.
Linkin Park has already given fans a brief look into the creation of "Heavy Is the Crown," sharing a short video of Emily Armstrong recording the bridge scream at Mike's home studio. This LPTV episode also includes some footage of another take by Emily on that section of the song!
All the footage in this LPTV episode comes from 2024 sessions at EastWest Studios, where the band is shown discussing lyric interpretation, weighing a mellower versus heavier chorus, and tracking parts with Mike, Emily, and Colin. We also briefly get to hear earlier versions of the hook from "Heavy Is the Crown," which Mike has mentioned before, noting how he changed the groove and sound of these samples after feedback from Joe Hahn and Mike Elizondo. This video also gives more valuable insight into Colin Brittain's role as producer, as he and Mike dialogue on vocal melodies.
Though the band obviously went with the more aggressive interpretation of the song, the cleaner vocal melody we hear Mike and Emily testing out went on to feature in the score for Arcane, the spinoff TV series based on Riot Games' League of Legends.
Stayed tuned next week as we anticipate a new episode for "Over Each Other," the next track on From Zero. Let us know your thoughts and discuss in our forums!

The second of three new songs available on Linkin Park's upcoming deluxe release of From Zero, "Unshatter" has now been released on digital platforms around the world, following the announcement earlier this week. The band has released an official visualiser for the track - a fairly minimalistic work with a monochromatic neon look, showing a series of vector patterns in motion.
Along with the other bonus tracks, "Unshatter" was briefly described by Linkin Park in a short blurb introducing the From Zero deluxe edition:
“Unshatter” was an early track we made while recording From Zero; Emily’s huge vocal in the bridge was one of the moments that gave us an indication of what was possible together.
As a non-album cut, much like "Up From the Bottom", "Unshatter" fits neatly with the songs that actually made the final From Zero tracklist, particularly the more straightforward rock numbers that make up the bulk of the album. The song is built around a meaty guitar riff and some Motown-style drums that will instantly remind Linkin Park fans of "Bleed It Out" and "Cut the Bridge", setting the stage for vocalists Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong to rap and sing lyrics about being lied to and betrayed.
And we'll never, ever put it back together
I should've known better / you're lying
First-time listeners might be surprised to realise that "Unshatter" is not a random working title but actually a linchpin in the song's chorus lyrics, representing a yearning for the past:
Unshatter the picture I was trying to see myself in
Unshatter the promise that I couldn't help believe
After two choruses, the song breaks down for some tense whispering, building up to the bridge with the promised "huge vocal" - during what is easily the heaviest section of the song, Armstrong cuts loose and delivers one of the angriest performances to have come out of the From Zero recording cycle.
The deluxe edition of From Zero drops next month on May 15, and will feature "Up From the Bottom", "Unshatter", and a third song, "Let You Fade", which is as-yet unreleased. For now, you can check out "Unshatter" on platforms such as YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music.

I should've known better / you're lying
Maybe I made it more complicated than it had to be
Maybe I'm mistake but it's taking something out of me
Maybe I'm too patient 'cause I waited until now to see
Take what you say and I ruminate away reality
But we'll never, ever put it back together
I should've known better / you're lying
Unshatter
The picture I was trying to see myself in
Unshatter
The promise that I couldn't help believe
I don't know how we got so cold
But my chest is a hole and the hole won't fill in
Unshatter me
I was waiting patiently / saving judgment for too long
When the hesitation would set the stage that I'd lose on
You were only aiming to pass the blame and, then, move on
You just turned the tables and made my right to a new wrong
And we'll never, ever put it back together
I should've known better / you're lying
Unshatter
The picture I was trying to see myself in
Unshatter
The promise that I couldn't help believe
I don't know how we got so cold
But my chest is a hole and the hole won't fill in
Unshatter me
But / you don't know me
You don't know me / I don't owe you anything
Go / you don't know me
You don't know me / I don't owe you
Go
I don't owe you anything
I don't owe you anything
You / you don't know me
You don't know me / I don't owe you anything
You / you don't know me
You don't know me / I don't owe you
And we'll never, ever put it back together
I should've known better / you're lying
Unshatter
The picture I was trying to see myself in
Unshatter
The promise that I couldn't help believe
I don't know how we got so cold
But my chest is a hole and the hole won't fill in
Unshatter me
