Linkin Park’s North American leg continues this weekend as the band makes their way from Chicago, Illinois, to Detroit, Michigan. The band is set to play at Little Caesars Arena on tomorrow, marking their seventh headlining performance in Detroit proper, and the first since the A Thousand Suns World Tour in early 2011. With the band still delivering fantastic performances praised by many fans, their return to the Motor City promises to be another great stop on the From Zero World Tour.
Linkin Park has played across the greater Detroit metro area 17 times, with seven performances in Detroit itself and others in suburbs such as Pontiac, Clarkston, and Auburn Hills. This performance, however, marks their first return to the City of Detroit since 2011—as well as their first ever at the Little Caesars Arena, which was only opened in 2017.

The band first performed in Detroit in September 2000, prior to the release of Hybrid Theory. This show was during the band's time opening for Kottonmouth Kings on the Ridin' High Tour. Few setlists from these early club shows have circulated, and Detroit is no exception. However, it's likely Linkin Park featured the same ten-song setlist that is known for some of the Ridin' High dates: opening with a truncated "Cure for the Itch," moving through early staples like "And One" and "A Place for My Head," and closing with "One Step Closer," which at that time was their only official release as Hybrid Theory's lead single.
The band returned shortly in early November for Phoenix's first-ever show with Linkin Park, having been welcomed back several days prior to replace touring bassist Scott Koizol. This marked the start of their run opening for P.O.D. on the Kings of the Game Tour. While no setlist is known for any of that tour, some hints can be gleaned from their performance in New York a few days later. It's possible Detroit followed the same format, opening with a remix of Fiona Apple's "Love Ridden" into "A Place for My Head." It's certain that they skipped dual-guitar songs ("Pushing Me Away" and "Crawling"), as they did until early 2001, and likely left out "Cure for the Itch."

Just a few months later, in February 2001, the band returned and performed in a northern Detroit suburb, Pontiac, for their headlining Street Soldiers Tour with Taproot and Styles of Beyond. This show opened with an extended-intro "With You," and notably included "High Voltage," which was fairly new to the band's setlist at that point. The band's closing run of "A Place for My Head," "Forgotten," and "One Step Closer" brought a heavy finale to this show, with Stephen Richards of Taproot also contributing guest vocals on "A Place for My Head."
By midsummer 2001, Ozzfest had Linkin Park back in the Detroit suburbs for two days in Clarkston at the end of July. These setlists are also undocumented, but surrounding dates suggest they most likely kicked off their shows with a playback intro of Guns 'N Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" to drop straight into "With You." The setlist likely featured nearly all of Hybrid Theory both days—with the exception of "Cure for the Itch"—performed to the largest Michigan crowds of their career up to that point.

The band would continue visiting Detroit suburbs: three months later, the band again returned to the Greater Detroit Area for Korn's Family Values tour, in Auburn Hills. Brad Delson was recovering from a broken foot for this show, prompting jests from his bandmates, and the band once again performed all of their debut album minus "Cure for the Itch," adding "Step Up" from their 1999 EP into the mix. Taproot also played on this tour, and Stephen Richards provided guest vocals for "One Step Closer" to finish out the set.

Linkin Park finally made their first headlining appearance in Detroit proper on the first Projekt Revolution tour in 2002, with a 16-song setlist and expanded production. The Detroit show that year included their EP cuts "Step Up" and "And One," as well as an acoustic version of "My December." As per usual, the band closed their show with "One Step Closer," and brought out members of Cypress Hill and Mark Chavez of Adema for an extended bridge.
With the Meteora cycle, the band wasted no time getting back to Detroit in March 2003. The band's LP Underground Tour brought them to the State Theatre (now the Fillmore Detroit) for a show filmed for the MTV 2$ Bill concert series. While LPU demand was low and ticketing had to be opened to the public, the performance there was anything but tepid, and Chester Bennington fed off the crowd's energy, bantering with fans and going into the crowd during "Faint."

They returned again for a summer festival in Pontiac that July, as part of Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour. Linkin Park packed their opener set with heavier cuts, opening with "Don't Stay" and including pit staples of that tour like "Figure.09," "With You," and "A Place for My Head."

In early 2004, the band then returned to Auburn Hills again. This date also lacks any confirmed information, but surrounding shows featured songs such as "It's Goin' Down," "Nobody's Listening," "Breaking the Habit," making it likely crowds there saw a similar setlist.
The band completed their return to the three Detroit suburbs with a July performance in Clarkston later that year, for Projekt Revolution 2004. This show included the "Step Up" / "Nobody's Listening" / "It's Goin' Down" mashup, a cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Wish," and a guest appearance from Korn's Jonathan Davis on "One Step Closer," highlights throughout that tour that would be included on the upcoming fourth LP Underground CD in November.
While footage of Clarkston in 2004 isn't circulated, Linkin Park's full performance in Camden a week later had the same setlist, giving an idea of what it was like in Clarkston!
After Linkin Park's break from touring across 2005 and 2006, they came right back to Clarkston for Projekt Revolution in August 2007. "One Step Closer" had finally made its shift to opener at this point, with its extended "Gunshot" intro, and the band did not let up for nine songs. They immediately followed with "Lying from You," then played "Somewhere I Belong," "No More Sorrow," "Papercut," and "Points of Authority." The band gave crowds a slight break with "Wake" to lead back into the high energy with "Given Up," immediately followed by "Don't Stay" and "From the Inside," finally slowing their pace with "Leave Out All the Rest." Quite the opening run!

The next year brought the band back to Detroit proper once again for Projekt Revolution 2008. Though it was performed for nearly all other dates of that tour, "My December" was dropped in Detroit. Still, the band brought out many great performances: Mike opened "Points of Authority" with a verse of "Dolla" from Fort Minor's We Major mixtape, and the band closed out with an extended "Bleed It Out" that included a Rob Bourdon drum solo and crowd singalong.

The A Thousand Suns world tour brought Linkin Park to Detroit proper one last time in January 2011. This set, as usual for that tour cycle, emphasized the atmospheric transitions and interconnected live arrangements that defined that album’s live experience: "The Requiem" opening into "The Radiance," "Fallout" segueing into "The Catalyst," and other transitions taken straight from the album such as "Wisdom, Justice, and Love" into "Iridescent." Mike rapped the first verse of "A Place for My Head" during "Bleed It Out," and the band also moved "Papercut" into the encore for the first time.

In August 2012, Auburn Hills hosted the Honda Civic Tour, with the band traveling back to eastern Michigan with their openers Incubus and MUTEMATH. "With You" had returned to its historical opening spot, complete with a new live intro featuring Ramin Djawadi's Game of Thrones theme, and the show included many highlights and mashups from the LIVING THINGS touring era: "VICTIMIZED" with "QWERTY," "Waiting for the End" with the "UNTIL IT BREAKS" intro, and full songs from the band's newest album such as "IN MY REMAINS" and "LOST IN THE ECHO."

Clarkston hosted the band for one last Detroit-area performance in August 2014 for the Carnivores Tour. After opening with "Guilty All the Same," the band moved their way through the series of breakneck mashups and shortened songs that defined this era's packed setlists, including "Runaway" transitioning into "Wastelands," as well as the first verse of "With You" over an extended drum loop intro to "Until It's Gone."

Now, in 2025 just 16 days shy of a full 11 years since their last visit to the Detroit area, Linkin Park will be making their return to Detroit in this new era. The band has been tearing across the U.S. eastern seaboard, Canada, and most recently Chicago, delivering widely-praised performances each time. Emily Armstrong brought out the full 16-second scream for "Heavy Is the Crown" at both Montréal dates, and the recent return of "LIES GREED MISERY" has solidified, rotating with "CASTLE OF GLASS" between dates.

The most recent show in Chicago brought out the band's "B" setlist structure, with "Cut the Bridge," "Given Up," "Good Things Go," and "A Place for My Head" rotating in. The band also brought a surprise for mutual fans of Chicago punk band Rise Against, as vocalist Tim McIlrath came out to feature on "One Step Closer."

This North American leg has been fairly consistent in structure, with mostly smaller twists defining the setlists. The encore closers continue to swap with the main set closers, and the band now has several rotating spots on the setlist to keep things different between dates. Mike also finally performed a new verse during his solo mashup set, bringing out his first verse from the X-Ecutioners collaboration "It's Goin' Down" in Chicago. We've previously speculated on some other staples mashup verses he's used in the past that haven't come to be, such as "High Voltage" or "Hands Held High"—could this be a signal that these may finally pop up at some point? Whether or not Detroit gets a true curveball, the city's history suggests this will be another great performance from Linkin Park, as they continue to make their way through their longest tour leg of the From Zero World Tour.

Linkin Park's Colin Brittain appears in a new video on the official Zildjian channel shot during the band's time in Frankfurt, Germany earlier this year. In the video, Brittain speaks about Linkin Park's writing process with regard to drums, the differences between studio and tour setups, and the various cymbals used in the live kit.
Zildjian is, of course, an Massachusetts-based instrument manufacturer - originally founded in Turkey back in the year 1623 - whose cymbals have long been used in Linkin Park's drum kits. Zildjian cymbals became a key part of Rob Bourdon's sonic palette during the recording of Meteora; even with his departure from the band, Linkin Park continues to use them as a component of their signature sound.

Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong have appeared on the latest episode of Track Star, the popular music-themed gameshow where the premise is simple: contestants are played snippets of popular songs, and win money for correct guesses. While pairs of guests would typically team up, host Jack Coyne has the two Linkin Park members compete at getting their guesses in first, in a special "Versus" edition of Track Star.
Coyne also spends time asking Shinoda and Armstrong questions about Linkin Park, and about their own connections with the artists and songs that come up. Shinoda relates his history as a fan of acts like Beastie Boys and Run DMC, while Armstrong speaks about her love of Janis Joplin. While Shinoda is clearly an expert at naming the songs, longtime Linkin Park fans might say he doesn't quite hit the mark when attempting to explain the creation of "What I've Done" ...
Track Star began in early 2023 on TikTok, and simply featured Coyne challenging random passersby in New York City to recognise well-known, popular songs. Before the year was up, however, famous music artists and other celebrities were scrambling to appear on the show as well, greatly increasing its profile. Whenever he has pre-booked celebrity guests, Coyne handpicks songs in advance with them in mind, as he hints at in this episode. Over the past few years, contestants have included Olivia Rodrigo, Ed Sheeran, PinkPantheress, Shinoda's arch-nemesis Lauren Mayberry, FINNEAS, Charli XCX, Jack Antonoff, and more.

Linkin Park members Emily Armstrong and Mike Shinoda have appeared on Australian breakfast program Today, a show which Shinoda previously appeared on in person back in 2023 while making a stop in the country. This time, he and Armstrong have had to appear remotely from Chicago, IL, just ahead of Linkin Park's arena show there as part their From Zero North American tour leg.
Speaking with host Karl Stefanovic, the two musicians talk about their freshly-announced Australia tour dates, set to be Linkin Park's first shows in the country since 2013. The conversation also touches on Linkin Park's earliest commercial success with 2000's Hybrid Theory, and how it informed the band's most recent studio effort From Zero.

Linkin Park has just posted a proshot recording of 'Cut the Bridge' from their show earlier this summer at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany. The band played two shows there, one on July 8th, and one on July 9th. This footage comes from the show on the 8th. You can watch the performance below.
Linkin Park hits Chicago, IL tonight for a show at United Center, an indoor arena with a capacity of 23,500. This is the eighth show in the band's North American tour leg, with many shows still to go throughout the rest of August and September before they're done. Linkin Park is fresh off three shows for Canada, including back-to-back nights at Centre Bell in Montreal, QC (after having recently done the same with two Boston, MA shows at the start of the month). Playing support for tonight's show is PVRIS, who has done so for every show on this tour leg, with this being the second-last date where they are on the bill as opening act.
The city of Chicago has seen quite a few Linkin Park shows over the years, dating back to the band's very first headlining tour after the release of debut album Hybrid Theory; on February 11, 2001, they performed at House of Blues in Chicago as part of this Street Soldiers Tour, with support from Taproot and Alien Ant Farm. Free from the time and resource constraints of supporting other bands throughout 2000 and prior, Linkin Park was able to deliver an expanded setlist and perform for their fans, riding the groundswell of Hybrid Theory's success. These sets contained nearly every song from the debut album, including "Crawling", which had been debuted live just the tour leg prior, and "Pushing Me Away", which saw its live debut earlier in the Street Soldiers tour. "Cure for the Itch", which had included in setlists frequently throughout 2000, was the only album cut not performed. To further pad out the headline set, the band threw in the B-side "High Voltage" and the Hybrid Theory EP cut "And One", with a different structure specific to the live show. Towards the end of the sets each night, Taproot vocalist Stephen Richards would often join Linkin Park on-stage to help perform "A Place for My Head", including this Chicago show.
Never-before-seen fan footage of this show emerged in 2023, filmed and uploaded by Brad Nolan (one of the hosts of the currently-inactive Metalhead Evolution podcast) showing a front row view at the House of Blues. The video covers most of the setlist, with sections of some songs missing, including, sadly, the climax of "A Place for My Head".
In early 2002, Linkin Park kicked off their year with the Projekt Revolution tour, which saw them headlining in arenas for the first time, bringing Cypress Hill, Adema and DJ Z-Trip along as opening acts. One of the earliest dates on this tour was in Chicago, where the band performed a show at UIC Pavilion, nowadays known as Credit Union 1 Arena, on February 1, 2002. The setlist for this tour once again saw Linkin Park performing most of their material from Hybrid Theory, but also leaving room for several non-album songs. In addition to the their own songs "Step Up" and "My December", Linkin Park also performed the X-Ecutioners song "It's Goin' Down", which Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn had helped to write and record for the group's 2002 album Built from Scratch, and a cover of Deftones' "My Own Summer (Shove It)", from the band's 1997 sophomore Around the Fur. For the show's closing song, "One Step Closer", members of Cypress Hill and Mark Chavez from Adema joined Linkin Park on-stage.
Linkin Park returned to Chicago in 2003 on the LP Underground Tour, a series of shows throughout Europe and the U.S. which were free to attend for Linkin Park Underground members, with support from Blindside. Many of the songs from Meteora were performed live to audiences for the first time on this tour, ranging from the lead single "Somewhere I Belong" to deep cuts like "Hit the Floor" and "Easier to Run". The second date, in Nottingham, England, was also the album's release show. Roughly in the middle of these tour dates was a stop at Riviera Theatre in Chicago on March 14, 2003. As would naturally be the case for the rest of the Meteora tour cycle, the setlist was roughly 50/50 between newer songs and cuts from the band's previous album Hybrid Theory. "With You", "Crawling" and "One Step Closer" were augmented with elements from their counterparts on Linkin Park's 2002 remix effort Reanimation. Following the cue of previous artists who had opened for the band, Blindside's frontman Christian Lindskog joined Linkin Park on-stage for "One Step Closer".
Eight years would go by before Linkin Park took the stage in Chicago again. After re-emerging from the studio and releasing their fourth studio album A Thousand Suns in September of 2010, the band spent the remainder of the year touring places outside the U.S., particulary Europe and Australia. Then, in 2011, Linkin Park hit the ground running with a North American tour leg to start off the year, and chose decidedly non-American acts to be their supports: electronic dance icons The Prodigy, drum & bass pioneers Pendulum (who, the previous year, had delivered an electrifying cover of Linkin Park's single "The Catalyst" for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge segment), and the 2010s' dance-punk poster children Does It Offend You, Yeah?. The latter two were the support acts for the Chicago stop on the tour, which saw Linkin Park performing at United Center on January 26, 2011.
Linkin Park held an LPU Summit at United Center ahead of this show, where attendees were able to watch the band do a soundcheck, which saw them play A Thousand Suns deep cuts "Burning In the Skies" and "Blackout", though the former was not included in Chicago's setlist.
Furthermore, Linkin Park requested for fans attending this show to record their performance of "Waiting for the End", with plans to compile the resulting fan footage into a single live video that would be released. A post by Joe Hahn on linkinpark.com explained:
In celebration of the current leg of our world tour, we're putting together a LIVE video for "Waiting for the End," and we want it to be filmed by you. We think the world should see the show from your perspective. Here's what we want you to do: If you are attending our January 26th show in Chicago, or January 28th in St. Paul, pull out your camera or phone when we play "Waiting for the End," and capture your best footage. We don't only want to see the band on stage; we want to see you in the crowd, your friends, the people around you singing, even footage from the parking lot or outside and around the venue...whatever you think looks cool. The finished video was uploaded to Linkin Park's YouTube channel on February 14, 2011. It used audio from the Chicago show in addition to fan-sourced video footage from that date:
Linkin Park had a series of very different setlists to rotate between night-to-night throughout the A Thousand Suns cycle. The setlist they used for the Chicago show kicked off with "Faint" after the "Requiem" intro. Alongside many A Thousand Suns songs like "Waiting for the End", "Blackout" and "Iridescent", there were songs from other albums including Minutes to Midnight's "Given Up" and "No More Sorrow", Meteora rager "From the Inside" and their smash hit from 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, "New Divide". Throughout the entire tour cycle, "Numb" transitioned into an interlude, with manipulated dialogue elements from "The Radiance" playing over the top of pensive piano chords. Linkin Park also began incorporating elements of other songs into their lengthy "Bleed It Out" live arrangement, specifically performing parts from "A Place for My Head".
During the performance of "Faint" at this show, Mike Shinoda handed the mic to a fan named Brandon, known on LPA as @Broman, who proceeded to nail the second rap verse before Shinoda took the mic back:
Over a decade later, Linkin Park makes their return to Illinois on the From Zero U.S. run. The most recent date on the tour leg, August 8 in Toronto, ON in Canada, was certainly not short on highlights. To start off with, Linkin Park brought "New Divide" back into the setlist, a song which hadn't appeared for the two Montreal shows prior. LIVING THINGS highlights "CASTLE OF GLASS" and "LIES GREED MISERY" continue to be alternated, with the former being played in Toronto. Among the From Zero songs, "Casualty" and "Over Each Other" have re-appeared together after being absent from the sets for several shows, sitting alongside staples such as "The Emptiness Machine", "Up From the Bottom" and "Two Faced".
Once again, PRVIS' frontwoman Lynn Gunn came up on-stage early in Linkin Park's set to help perform "BURN IT DOWN" which she had begun doing earlier in the tour at one of the Boston, MA shows, to the delight of even LP team members.
During his solo segment, Mike Shinoda delivered a rap verse he hadn't used during this entire From Zero tour cycle: his own verse from the "SKIN TO BONE" remix which appeared on 2013's RECHARGED.
During the second half of the set, Emily Armstrong rocked out a little too hard during "One Step Closer" and damaged her microphone towards the end of the second chorus. A replacement was swiftly provided by the crew but it seems it didn't begin working until the very last lines of the final chorus. Luckily for Armstrong, the crowd was more than ready to cover for her as needed:
More surprises were to come: Shinoda teased the main guitar hook from Hybrid Theory deep cut "Pushing Me Away" during the extended intro to "Overflow". The marks the first time he didn't use a hook from another artist's song for this part.
Linkin Park also delivered the Meteora banger "From The Inside" towards the end of the main set, a song they haven't played for quite a few shows:
Continuing to prove the haters wrong, Armstrong once again did not pause for breath midway through that one part in "Heavy Is the Crown":
Following "Bleed It Out" and the end of the main set (during which Shinoda delivered a verse from "A Place for My Head"), Linkin Park returned to the stage to deliver their killer encore segment comprising "Papercut", "In the End" and "Faint". This is something they've been doing more and more often since the second Boston, MA show at the beginning of August.
Even factoring in that there was an Illinois tour stop in 2014, Chicago has waited a long time for Linkin Park to return on tour. Now closing in on a whole year of the From Zero cycle, footage and accounts from the band's latest show in Toronto make clear that they are certainly not losing steam; Linkin Park is still delivering a tight, high-energy experience every night. The band is actually not even halfway done with this tour leg, with many more North American dates left to go throughout the next two months, before more tour legs follow to fill out the remainder of 2025. After tonight's Chicago show, the band will play in Detroit, MI on August 14, followed by two cities in Pennsylvania: Philadelphia on August 16 and Pittsburgh on August 29.
If you're going to this show, let us know!

A new episode of LPTV has just been uploaded to the Linkin Park YouTube channel. This is another one covering the bands recent European tour, specifically focusing on their shows in London, Düsseldorf, and Rock Werchter. We get some great footage from the shows as per usual, with plenty of focus being put on the Wembley performance and Emilys fashion choice for 'Two Faced' in Düsseldorf. Take a look below!
Linkin Park is playing their third show for the year in Canada tonight, with a fourth one coming in a few weeks when they stop by Vancouver.
Toronto as a city has always been a popular destination for the band, dating back to their first year of touring all the way back in 2000. Heading up to Canada they played their first show, not just in the city, but in the country as a whole. Thankfully this entire show was recorded by an audience member, so we know the full setlist and have a good recording to listen to. The band went through all the songs off of Hybrid Theory except for 'Crawling' and 'Pushing me Away', as they weren't touring with a second guitar rig for Mike at this point. 'Cure for the Itch' also wasn't played.
In 2001 the band returned to Toronto twice, once in the summer while on the Ozzfest tour, and once in the fall with the Family Values tour. For the performance in November, the band dropped 'Forgotten' from their set in order to have the X-Ecutioners come out before the two last songs of the set and do a quick DJ Set.
On the Meteora cycle the band came to visit the city twice, once for 2003 and once in 2004. The show in 2003 was on the summer sanitarium tour, so if you've seen the Live in Texas DVD, you know what they played. For the bands performance in Toronto in 2004 the band pulled a fan named Alex on 'Faint' to play Brads guitar part, something that they occasionally would do around this time.
On the next album cycle the band once again only stopped by once per year, 2007 and 2008 only got one show each, thankfully the 2008 one was quite memorable.
For the 2007 edition of Projekt Revolution the band made not only just one stop in Toronto, but that was also the only Canadian show on the entire tour. Thankfully though, the Canadian fans got a special set with one of the incredibly rare performances of 'Qwerty' being played. The show in 2008 started off in a really weird and special way. Mike, Chester and Phoenix were the only band members who were at the venue when the band went on stage, with Rob, Brad, and Joe being held up at the airport with customs. This forced the band members at the venue to improvise, so Mike and Chester went out and started the show off with piano versions of 'Breaking the Habit' and 'Pushing Me Away' before going into a transition from 'Hands Held High' into a full band version of 'What I've Done', with Brad, Rob and Joe finally having arrived and hurried onto stage to join the show. This forced the band to have to cut several songs from the setlist, due to them coming on stage so late.
After 2008 until today, the band has only played in Toronto twice, once in 2011 and once in 2014. The 2011 show took place on Phoenix's birthday, so before 'New Divide', the band and the crowd sang Happy Birthday to him. After this show, the band had to cancel the next five shows due to Chester being sick. Almost exactly eleven years ago, Linkin Park played their last full band performance in Toronto, on August 24 2014 when they were out on the The Carnivores tour with AFI and 30 Seconds to Mars. But for promo for 'One More Light' in 2017, Mike and Chester did three separate promo appearances for various media outlets in Toronto on March 17, playing 'Heavy' at all of them.
Most recently Linkin Park has played two shows in Montreal, starting their Canada shows off strong. Not only did Emily pull off the full scream on 'Heavy is the Crown' once, she did it at both shows! The band is pretty set in their setlists at this point, continuing mostly what they've been doing this entire year. The only differences the band does currently is what they do on the intro to 'Numb' and whatever verses Mike does on his solo medley and 'Bleed It Out'. With that said though, the band decided to be a little unpredictable on the heavy rotation slot on the second night, previously they had had played 'IGYEIH' on the C set, but they instead decided to play 'Keys to the Kingdom', making it the debut for that song on this leg of the tour.
This is another show where we'll have a big staff representation. For the Wembley Stadium show we had five staff members, and at this show we have four of our staff attending and enjoying the show with all the other attendees. Two of the staff members who're attending the show were also at the Wembley show. Hopefully this Toronto show will be as special as the one in London.
With livestreaming becoming more accessible than ever, fans at home have been able to watch shows on social media via YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram livestreams from attendees. After a four-show run on the northeast coast of the United States, Linkin Park continues their packed North American tour leg with two back-to-back shows in Montréal. These will mark their sixth and seventh appearances in Montréal, as well as the first time they've ever played back-to-back nights in the city. This will also mark the band's return to Canada for the first time since their performance at Amnesia Rockfest in 2015. While there have been some local listening party events, as well as shows close to their border, Canadian fans have been waiting patiently for these shows and the band's return to their country!
These two shows also mark the band's first return to Montréal itself in 11 years, having last performed there during the touring cycle for The Hunting Party in 2014. They will be playing at Bell Centre (Centre Bell en français), where they have played several of their past shows in Québec's largest city. While Linkin Park's history in the city isn't too extensive, it does include several memorable performances.
Linkin Park's first show in Montréal was in July 2003, during Metallica's Summer Sanitarium Tour, alongside fellow support acts Limp Bizkit, Deftones, and Mudvayne. That summer performance featured a setlist packed with a mix of the band's most energetic tracks from their recorded material at the time, and they played most of both Hybrid Theory and Meteora. One particular highlight of this touring era also brought to Montréal was the Reanimation track "P5hng Me A*wy," performed in full.

One other rarity from this era that was heard at that Montréal show was "Figure.09," the Meteora deep cut now known (thanks to Meteora|20) to be written as a spiritual successor to "One Step Closer." "Figure.09" brought additional heavy energy for the pit at this show and was a standout among the heavier tracks featured in their Summer Sanitarium sets.

The band took no time returning to Montréal, returning just five months later in January 2004 for a headlining date. While "Figure.09" was not performed, "P5hng Me A*wy" remained, and with a full headlining set the band brought additional songs such as "My December," "It's Goin' Down," and even "Breaking the Habit"—which had just debuted semi-recently in November 2003.

During "Faint" at this show, the band attempted to bring an audience member up to play guitar for the song. After their planned guest couldn't perform, longtime fan Sal (known for the incredible number of shows he has attended since 2000 and featured on a 2024 LPTV), yelled to Chester that he could sing the song, and the band brought him on stage.

With the Minutes to Midnight cycle, Linkin Park brought their North America tour to Montréal in February 2008. One standout moment from this show came when Chester performed the full 17-second scream on "Given Up," something he only did a handful of times throughout his career. Mike also performed a short piano cover of the Cure's "Just like Heaven," a tradition he began at the start of the year, for the final time that night. He also included the first verse of "There They Go" as part of an extended outro to "Points of Authority"—the first time the Fort Minor song had been featured during a Linkin Park show.

Linkin Park's 2011 performance in Montréal brought the A Thousand Suns world tour in full force, complete with the era-classic openers of "The Requiem" and "The Radiance" opening the night before heading into "Faint." The setlist balanced live staples from previous albums such as "No More Sorrow" alongside the band's newest material, incorporating songs such as "Blackout" and "Iridescent" from A Thousand Suns. The night's encore opened with "When They Come for Me," setting the encore's tone with a percussive hip-hop swing that transitioned well into "Papercut," continuing into "New Divide," "Crawling," and finishing out the night with "One Step Closer."

The band returned in 2014 for the Carnivores Tour, bringing their intricate new production to Montréal, with shortened songs, mashups, and custom transitions to represent the band's catalog as much as possible. That night opened with "Guilty All the Same," and included both staples of The Hunting Party like "Rebellion" as well as deep-cut nods to the band's early work such as "With You" or "Runaway"—though the latter was shortened to lead into "Wastelands."
"Somewhere I Belong," currently serving as the band's opening song on the From Zero world tour, as performed in Montréal in 2014.
Now, with Montréal's double-header, the band will return to bring their newest material to the City of Saints. Notably, "Faint" and "In the End" have returned to close the encore again, after the band tested switching the main set and encore closers during their second show in Frankfurt. Three of the four past shows have featured this new encore structure, moving "Bleed It Out," "Heavy Is the Crown," and the encore rotation slot to the end of the main set instead.

In Newark, the band continued on with their surprise addition debuted at the second night in Boston: "LIES GREED MISERY" with the new band lineup. This had followed long-standing fan speculation after a tease from Mike about Emily Armstrong's affinity for the song on Discord earlier this year, later followed by a statement that the band didn't intend to perform it. Whether it was intentional misdirection or a change of plans, Boston night two featured the first performance of "LIES GREED MISERY" in over a decade, and the band seems intent on keeping it around by playing it in Newark. It was last seen briefly at the beginning of 2014 in Las Vegas.

With the return of "LIES GREED MISERY," some hope has surfaced for the other song mentioned in that Discord exchange—"Blackout"—coming to the band's setlist. Colin Brittain has also mentioned some deeper cuts he would like to play, such as "QWERTY," "With You," or even "Robot Boy," but the return of "LIES GREED MISERY" has been the first time any of these offhand comments have been substantiated.
It remains to be seen whether "CASTLE OF GLASS" will return after losing its spot to "LIES GREED MISERY." Either way, the band is still continuing to deliver great performances for fans, and Montréal can expect to have two amazing nights of live music!
