Somewhere I Belong is the first single to come from their sophomore album, Meteora. The track was widely received and placed on numerous charts worldwide, placing #1 on U.S Hot Modern Rock Tracks and the U.S Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks. The single also broke the top ten on the UK Singles Chart reaching #10.
The track begins with a reversed swooping guitar effect, which looking back, can be heard as a short snippet that Mike Shinoda was working with on the Hybrid Theory touring cycle, during the Frat Party At The Pancake Festival DVD.
