Ohms is some good shit, yeah. After a few listens, Urantia, This Link is Dead, and Radiant City are probably my favorites. I was just recently talking about how much I loved the prominent synths on Saturday Night Wrist and how they mostly disappeared or were relegated to the background after that album. Lo and behold, Ohms has some tasty synths sprinkled throughout.
I don't wanna say Ohms is a more optimistic or vibrant album but I can't find words to describe it. It's a progressive album (for Deftones) and has a lot of life and color. Chino is also really direct in the songs, which caught me off guard at times. There's a clear focus and direction to this album that their recent output didn't have. It keeps my interest and engagement sustained.
Uh, this album is really good! Gave it two runs so far! Currently tackling the whole Deftones discography. Don't know why I never bothered checking them out. ATM I'm listening to White Pony! Sooo good ...
I didn't really know what to expect of this one, other than hoping it would be a bit more memorable than "Gore" was.. and I was pleasantly surprised! I feel like this one's gonna sit right next to "Saturday Night Wrist" and "Koi No Yokan", which are pretty much the only Deftones albums I have an easy time revisiting. Highlights for me are "Urantia" (god, I love the riffs on this), "Error", "Pompeji" into "This Link Is Dead" (nnngh) and "Radiant City". Big fan of the riffs on this record, as well as the occasional synths that're tastefully sprinkled throughout the tracks.

Lmfao. I cannot stand this brand of stoner/drug guy. Dudes do DMT once and think they've tapped into the spiritual veins of the universe. Much rather hang out with the dudes who just get ripped and play Rocket League.
