I'm definitely now part of the most stereotypical post-hardcore/emo band that I've ever heard. It's more of an experiment between myself and three friends though. I'll keep you all posted, it should be good. and I've written some songs that are more on the serious and musical side, and I've demoed a very few of them, so we'll see how that turns out. they may or may not get released to the public or even recorded.
I am in a band. 2, actually. One is particularly serious. One is silly, and there's no material for it. The first one, the silly one, is called Exploding Moses. Yes, I know, you're probably going to criticize me for copying Testament or something typical, but me and Testament kinda created this whole thing with Exploding religious characters. We came up with EM and EJ. He went far with EJ. I didn't with EM, but I'm working on it. It consists of me and my friends Ryan, DJ Zap, and Sean Smith. The serious band I'm working with is Monatori. It may sound familiar to some of you. Monatori was actually the name of a member here a while back, but he doesn't really participate here anymore, but it was the name of his band. It consisted of two members, Ryan (Keep in mind EM was made after Monatori, and that this is the same Ryan from EM) and Chris. I met Ryan through a message board my friend Ron made and we became good pals. He showed me some of his music and through the course of maybe the past 1 and a half years or so I've been helping him and being his critic. He later then decided for me, as well as DJ Zap, to join Monatori. So I'm in the band, and I play Piano and Guitar in the band. I am also the Production Manager of our record label, Theorist Records. You can check it out some of our stuff here: http://www.myspace.com/monatori. I am also doing a solo project on my own. Basically, it's just little things. I haven't really gotten up and out. I'm making a song that I've been wanting to make over the course of year with Monatori, which is good. That's definitely going to go up on the MySpace. I have two songs that I made, one called Tour and another called Ad Infinitum, which are both one minute instrumentals. I also have two other songs, one from Monatori and one from Ryan. You can check those out: http://www.myspace.com/spanias. You can check out our website for our record label and the bands and artists signed to it here: http://www.monatori.com.

This song is mainly about time ????? Someone- "I wanna be somebody, want to not lose control...." I thought of the first part of the chorus when i crashed my car Bulletproof- We thought of this when some of us (not including me) went to see the new Superman movie Superman/Hero- Basicaly the same song but my version of it (simular tune but different lyrics) We are curently working on a song called "Dreamer"
Almost necroposting there... Initial D movie... great fun. But since this thread isn't dead (yet), might as well update with specifics. Aubrey: Brian C. Hudson - Vocals, Vocoder, Synth, Drums Ryan Becker - Vocals, Talkbox, Guitar, Keyboard Sarah Brister- Vocals, Flute, Vocoder Kacy Howe (me) - Viola, Synth, possibly Vocoder Teddy Yu - Guitar, Violin Trey Price- Synth Guyton Sanders- Drums Abe Kotara- Percussion (second drumset basically) Christina Richardson- Bass Guitar Codi Sisk- Stand-up Bass Claire Sieverman- Cello Yes, that's a lot of members but consider that this is Aubrey CONDENSED. Meaning that a lot of people are multitasking right now. Ideally we'd have a full-time violinist and vocoder and violist, but we want to play live ASAP so it's kind of hard to find that many people. Our (as of now) Unordered Setlist: Leap Year I Am Alive IV Nights of Milan Mirage Revolve Le Boombox Now New Day Once we get our show live, we're going to start recording new songs too. Also we just got signed to Cassette Recordings, and sometime in the future, Aubrey's songs are going to be made available on iTunes. Furthermore, we might have to change our name if Aubrey is already in use, in which case we will be The Omni-Heist. Check us out at: Aubrey Myspace Aubrey Extended (more songs) Aubrey Museum (main webpage, some older songs on there
What do you guys think would be a good song to play in front of a high school audience? So far, its either Chop Suey!, Duality, or Dying in your arms, and Im thinking about welcome to the Black parade, but I don't know, because we really need to focus on one song, and I haven't asked my band yet
Im pretty sure were doing Duality, its a pretty easy song, and it sounds awesome, so yeah. The thing I dont like about my band is that, im the only one that actually practices, and knows the songs, my drummer is too lazy, the tother guitarist dosnt try because his guitar is a peice of crap, and my bassist is a noob.
Yeah I know, plus he dosnt have a double kicker or anything, but he made up his own parts which is what I told him to do. We already started practicing Chop Suey awhile ago, but I would really rather do duality. Plus, you have to remeber that we dont have a singer, so Chop Suey would get boring very fast, and Duality is pretty good the whole way through, plus we could always change riffs, try and make solos and all that stuff.
Some minor changes to the line-up: Aubrey: Brian C. Hudson - Vocals, Vocoder, Synth, Drums Ryan Becker - Vocals, Talkbox, Guitar, Keyboard Sarah Brister- Vocals, Flute, Vocoder Kacy Howe (me) - Viola, Synth, possibly Vocoder Teddy Yu - Guitar, Violin Trey Price- Synth Guyton Sanders- Drums Abe Kotara- Percussion (second drumset basically) Christina Richardson- Bass Guitar Codi Sisk- Stand-up Bass Claire Sieverman- Cello, Synth, Vocals
Another thing, I dont think it would go too well at my catholic high school, especially when they say Angels deserve to die
I don't have a band but I rap! Wow. I'm impressed by this Aubrey group. I can't believe you got all those people together to make a sound like that. Musically, this is the direction music should be. And the singer is pretty good. Keep doing what you do - I am impressed!
My german teacher was all excited when she saw a poem of mine...I'm sure she didn't even get half of it...but she wanted me to do a song with a kid in my class that raps...I wrote some lyrics...he rapped his parts...they sucked 'cause you can totally hear he's german...but other than that...recording was fun...especially 'cause it didn'T cost us any money... And since my band and I haven't met up in the past 5 months...we're back to where we started...new bandmembers...new song ideas...and just strted writing again last week Bandmembers: Band:??? (currently no name) Guitars:Joshua Schindler /Josh & Maximillian Praunrath / Max Bass: Pola (she only let's us use this nickname) Drums: David Schwalb / Dave Keyboard:Markus Gumper / Gumper Backing Vocals:Franziska Mörder / Franzi (yah...it's a SHE...but she really rules in hitting the notes I can't get and she adds a certain power to most parts) Vocals:Me (Christopher Ratliff / Chris) I started a little rap/rock project on the side Song list: Our actual band:^ 1.:A little rewritten just for fun version of Destroy all by Static-X 2.: (No name for song...still work in progress) it's not much...but we're working on it...the band how it exists right now was made up like...I don't know...maybe three weeks ago Rap project: 1.:War of the 7 nations (the song our teacher 'forced' us in to) 2.:Just another bad way of presenting myself (Work in project) so yah...a lot of work...it'll be an assload of fun
