It's called Snow White Tan. He's working with Ryan from Orgy on it but that's all I know.
He said something about brainwashing all children into liking his project on MTV too.

(I hope you were serious about not knowing about his side project because else this is kind of pointless explanation that has nothing to do with this thread.)

Much luck with all your projects too, everyone!

Um guys, do you think that Enter Sandman by Metallica would be a good song to do, except I dont know if I could do the solo.

Sure it would...but if you can't do the solo that would be a problem. Although you do have a year to work on it! In my experiences the best songs to play are ones that you LIKE to play and ones that are easily recognizable by the audience. They will expect that guitar solo or something pretty close to that so for the best performance it would be good to have that solo down.

It'd probably be the same expression as when Limp Bizkit replaced the Sanitarium solo with a DJ making some noise with some turntables on that MTV Icon thing.

Do you guys think it's okay to have some cover versions next to your own songs on a demo CD or should it be just your own versions? I hope you guys can help me with this problem 'cause I don't wanna do something stupid with our first project like this...

Frontman - Covers are fine if thats what your going for. Many bands do their own material (especially when they start) and throw in a cover or two that they play really well. Its not a shame to play covers, I play in a band that does all covers and no originals and its good because you get to make it your own and others can connect to it live.

Also people might buy it if you are marketing it because it'll have a cover of a song they like, rather than just a collection of originals.

What do you mean by tips?

Do you have a tab of it or are you learning it by ear?

Well, what are you having trouble with? Technique? Rhythm? Style?

For technique, you need to start it slow and work it up to the normal speed. A metronome really helps for this. You may also have to start to do technical exercises and scales to help your technique. If you want to progress on your guitar you should start doing that now. Also, practising bends and all that if I remember correctly the solo has a few!

Rhythm, especially beginner musicians that play rock music its important to get a good sense of rhythm. Those that aren't classically trained to start usually have a problem reading music or what not. Its good to read standard musical notation but the biggest thing to work on is your ear and hear the rhythm then play it. I suggest you listen to the solo OVER and OVER until you can sing/hum the solo along with the song. Then you will have good rhythm with the solo.

Style...same thing. Listen to the solo many times, imitate Kirk Hammett's style when you play. And don't think that copying someone's style is necessarily a bad thing. The best musicians do it, gradually through copying other peoples style you'll get your own.

LOL there's my musician's rant. Have fun with it though, thats the main thing.
    Peace.

That's really good, he splits it up with the correct tabulature (looks like GP) and plays you the real samples. And yeah I guess a wah pedal is a must for this song, at least for when performing it!
