Cephalic Carnage - Lucid Interval (Brutal Death Metal, Deathgrind) Pure insanity! This abolutely crushes. Brutal, dissonant chaotic. They're part of the concert lineup I'm going to on sunday the 29th. Since they were the only band on the billing I wasn't familiar with, I thought that now would be a perfect time to check these guys out!
Killswitch Engage - "Disarm the Descent" Genre: Metalcore It may not be the most commonly held of opinions, but this one is one of my favorite albums from Killswitch Engage. What's so interesting about it is that it almost has some elements of thrash metal, which help it stand out from the rest of their discography. The one main issue I have with the record is that it is so incredibly front-loaded that most of the best material is in the first half of the album. I generally check out there until "Always" comes back in.
A Perfect Circle - Eat The Elephant The album cover is too damn weird, but the music is really good. Still don't get the octopus
TesseracT - Altered State (Prog Metal) TesseracT - Polaris (Prog Metal) TesseracT - Sonder (Prog Metal)
From Ashes To New - The Future Genre: Nu-Metal // Alternative Rock Linkin Park - Living Things Genre: Alternative Rock // Electronic Rock
Alter Bridge - Blackbird (Rock/Alernative Metal) Alter Bridge - Fortress (Rock/Alternative Metal) I could listen to Myles Kennedy all day! His voice is simply outstanding. I actually once discovered him through Slash. Now I'm a huge AB fan. Mark Tremonti imo is quite an underrated guitarist, too.
Kanye West - "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" Genre: Hip-Hop Kanye West - "Late Registration" Genre: Hip-Hop
Circa Survive - The Amulet (Rock/Alternative/Progressive) Circa Survive - Descensus (Rock/Alternative/Progressive)
Tove Styrke - Sway Genre: Pop Linkin Park - Living Things Genre: Alternative rock Dance Gavin Dance - Acceptance Speech Genre: Post-hardcore / Experimental rock
I've been listening to lots of Punk lately! Strike Anywhere - Iron Front (Punk/Melodic Hardcore) Great Collapse - Neither Moscow, Nor Washington Again ... (Punk/Melodic Hardcore) This is brilliant! If you dig stuff like Strike Anywhere/Rise Against/Anti-Flag I would definitely recommend giving this a shot. This Punk supergroup consists of singer Thomas Barnett (Strike Anywhere), Chris Chasse (best known as the ex-guitarist of Rise Against), guitarist Tom Arnott (At Risk), bassist Joe Saucedo (Set Your Goals) & drummer Todd Hennig (ex-Death By Stereo). Propagandhi - Supporting Caste (Punk) Propagandhi play in a Punk league of their own! No contest. Excellent songwriting (riffing and lyricism) Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues (Punk/Folk) This album is super important (not only for Punk music). I must admit I hadn't properly listened to Against Me! until Tom Gabel came out as a trans woman and changed his name to Laura Jane Grace. A pretty bold move! (Imo the Punk scene isn't always as tolerant as people make it out to be) I'm glad she's happy and content now. First I only knew their hits, but soon realized how great their discography actually is.
