Judas Priest - "Screaming for Vengeance" Genre: Heavy Metal Philip Glass - "Glassworks" Genre: Minimal Chamber
Muse - Origin of Symmetry One of the best albums I've listened to in recent times. Technically almost perfect, could have been a bit better vocally, but still a mezmerizing record. I actually find it impossible to get why they've shifted to a much poppier sound other than for monetary reasons.
MisterWives - Connect the Dots Genre: Indie pop / Alternative pop Fickle Friends - You Are Someone Else Genre: Indie pop / synthpop / new wave
Between The Buried And Me - Automata I (Progressive Metal) By far my favourite modern Prog-Metal band. Can't wait for Automata II
Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns Genre: Alternative Rock // Electronic Rock Pink Floyd - Animals Genre: Progressive Rock // Psychedelic Rock
Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour Genre: Country Kacey Musgraves - Pageant Material Genre: Country Kacey Musgraves - Same Trailer Different Park Genre: Country
Ensiferum - Ensiferum (Folk Metal/Melodic Death Metal) Ensiferum - Iron (Folk Metal/Melodic Death Metal) Ensiferum - Victory Songs (Folk Metal/Melodic Death Metal)
Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour Genre: Country Can't get enough of this album. I hope I'll move on from it. Not predicting anything better in the weeks to come.
Don Broco - Technology Genre: Pop-Rock; Post Hardcore Some songs in and I've listened to better than this. Taking into account that they're signed to Nuclear Blast, it would be reasonable for the songs to be heavier, they manage that to some extent instrumentally, but vocally I've seen much better things in that label. Lyrically not the best thing either. It would be good as a pop-rock album, not as a Nuclear Blast expected Metal album. The best thing here is just the instrumentation, but there's no striking melody or chorus to keep me interested, even if they try to have something compelling most of the times, it ends up flat. The duration doesn't help and would be expectable to be so long if it was straightwforward metal. I've seen better production on other rock/metal albums as well As a metal album would be a 4, as a pop-rock album/alternative a 6 at best, but I'd give it a 5 or 5,5. Best tracks are Stay Ignorant, Pretty, The Blues, Greatness and the closer Potty Mouth. It's an album often in limbo between good and average, which is not the best thing.
Killswitch Engage - "The End of Heartache" Genre: Metalcore Killswitch Engage - "As Daylight Dies" Genre: Metalcore Until just recently, I had almost completely forgotten how much I used to love these guys in middle and high school. Went out to a bunch of stores to buy a lot of their CDs. Though I was disappointed that I wasn't able to find Alive or Just Breathing and Disarm the Descent, I was able to get these two! I was hoping to get the special edition of As Daylight Dies that has the cover of Holy Diver, but oh well. One of the few metalcore acts I legitimately love. Should get a copy of the Times of Grace record too.
Dance Gavin Dance - Mothership Genre: Post-hardcore / Experimental rock I can't stop listening to this album, fuck it's sooo good! I don't even know how they will top it tbh.
