supposedly so is Batista, but I'll wait until the night is over, because I really don't think either of them are returning. The plan is/was for Rock/Lesnar next year at 'Mania, though. So, who knows.
Yeah, but in hindsight, there was a world champion that lacked hugely in the character department. Perhaps this 5 second loss will knock some sense into Bryan and we will see something interesting out of his character for a change. It's shitty though, considering the prestige that the title is supposed to have. I thought the Cena/Rock match was not very good. There was quite the bit of botched spots and the end of the match seemed very anti-climactic.
Not happy with the 18 second title win. Especially at WrestleMania. Bryan and Sheamus deserve better. The Taker / HHH match was the highlight of the show IMO. Great story behind it and the fact Jim Ross called it really made it. Wasn't surprised by Jericho's loss even though I wanted him to win. Wasn't happy with Rhodes being beat clean, but I hope it means a main event push is coming. Not sure why Kane beat Orton clean too, but they're both pretty stale IMO and Orton needs something to keep him fresh. Rock and Cena was a good match IMO, picked up near the end but did have slow spots. I thought the finish was good with Cena going for the elbow and then The Rock beating him clean, which surprised me too. Good night overall. Not sure what the fuck that Funkasaurus shit was though.
Had it not been for Taker/HHH it would have been a pretty stale WM. The only other standout match was Rock/Cena but even that was a slight letdown. I don't know why WWE had time for that Brodus Clay bullshit but only 18 seconds for a world title match. Insane.
I know I wasn't the only one in the world who marked out like a 8-year-old kid when Rock pinned Cena for the last time. I didn't get a chance to see the match and the other matches as I didn't order WrestleMania (-________________________________-), but just watching the ending made me jump all over my bed and run around my whole house.
Rock/Cena was pretty horrible considering the year long build and, honestly, the past work of both men. I mean, Cena always delivers at any PPV main event, but especially at WrestleMania. Maybe it's foreshadowing or something, but it just seemed like a really bad imitation of a WWE main event match. Reeeeeaaaallllllyyyy basic match, started with a headlock, stalling, hip toss, etc. Rock's selling for the rib attacks by Cena on the outside was awesome, and Cena heeling it up (bailing from the ring to compose himself, Cena breaking the 10 count outside by sliding in and out of the ring and kicking Rock in the ribs casually). All things considered, I think the right person won. If Cena had won, where does he go from there? It'd be the same 'ol shit. Rock winning atleast provides the chance for some character development. But it'll all be for naught if Cena comes out tonight, all smiles and being a fuckin' dork like usual. We'll see. I hope the Brock rumors weren't just an April Fools joke, I heard he signed a one year deal. Supposed to be Rock/Brock II next year in New Jersey. Someone even asked the Rock about it and he was smiling and shit and said nothing. Oh, and Daniel Bryan losing in like 3 seconds totally makes sense. Them opening the show makes sense too. The latter is because of them both being the dark match at last year's 'Mania. Now, they're opening the show for the World Heavyweight Title. Also, Bryan won the title with his MITB cash-in in like, the same amount of time that he lost the title last night. The story came full circle. I think Bryan will get it back, though. They were fucking chanting "YES! YES! YES!" along with him! C'MON!
I can see a full blown heel turn out of this by Bryan. Blaming AJ for his loss and being a total Dick bag about the whole thing. As far as Cena goes, perhaps it will help him evolve into a heel as well by blaming the audience. Or he might blame himself, which I could see him rightfully do. We will see though. Raw's not that far away...
Haha, Miami made the CM Punk Vs. Mark Henry match very entertaining. I was laughing so much when they was like, "Whoooaa.... OOOH!"
There was ALOT of British people in the audience in Miami tonight for some reason. They were almost certainly behind the crazy chanting.
Lord Tensai, Abraham Washington and Brock Lesnar returns tonight. Hot damn. Best RAW ever. I saw a video of the dark match, which included Daniel Bryan, and his pop might have been bigger than Lesnar's, no lie.
