All of the covers Nine Inch Nails have done are horrible. Dead Souls, Metal, Memorabilia, etc. They only good covers they've done are of lesser known acts, like Pigface (Suck) & Adam Ant (Physical).
Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt was good. [/b][/quote] Too bad that doesn't account for the rest of them. And in my opinion, it wasn't that great.
The only good covers of Nine Inch Nails songs are KMFDM's cover of Terrible Lie, and Johnny Cash's Hurt (If only for the video).
oh god, I just heard the Avril cover of basket case. it was horrible. I had to clense my ears with the real deal.
Atreyu's cover of Bon Jovi's You Give Love A Bad Name. Atreyu are actually one of my favourite bands at the moment, but with this cover you get the feeling that they sat down before recording it and said, "Alright guys, let's cover an 80's pop song, and we can scream the verses just for the hell of it!". The same goes for the AAF cover of Smooth Criminal. They sound cool for the first two or three listens, then you loathe them because they're just pure novelty. Am I the only one who actually thought LP's cover of Wish was pretty good? Or even better than the original?
I like LP's version more. In the real wish, when it gets loud during the verses I feel like Trent is throwing too much synth and static noise in when it gets loud and I get irritated by it. And as much as I like synths, I think the rock version (LP's) just sounds better. And Trent's voice in the chorus sounds too ''contained''.
