Same here. It's one of the very, very few moments in LP's discography that grabs me emotionally

UIG sounds generic and repetitive, to the point that it was even dropped halfway in their tour (although this surprises me as it was promoted a lot with Wastelands preceding the album release).

But to be honest the instrumental is one of my favorites from the album, especially when the second verse kicks in. I like how the synths were used.

Having watched (and survived, thank God) Transformers 4, the themes of the movie are almost identical to the song's, especially with the father-daughter relationship explored in the movie. Imagine Dragons' songs (Battle Cry and All for You) are imo miles better than UIG though, but didn't sell as well as WID and New Divide.

I actually really like the complexity at points in the instrumental and vocals (especially in the first verse/chorus)

I just wanted to say that people have mistaken what Mike meant in the Making Of ATS DVD with the What I've Done quote and I've seen it countless times being used on LP fan forums over the years. He didn't say ''some What I've Done shit'' in the sense that it was some shitty mainstream rock song made for radio. He said ''I'm not on some What I've Done shit'' referring to the fact that he couldn't go home and write a huge hit single in one night. If you watch the section of the DVD that Mike says this, the band is having a meeting saying that they need a big single to push the album, similar to the situation with Minutes To Midnight needing a big single to push the album. Mike went home in one night and came back with What I've Done the next day and it became a huge hit, that's what Mike meant. So when Mike said ''I'm not one some What I've Done shit'', this is all I've got'', he was saying he already wrote the best songs that he could so far and he wouldn't be able to pull off another What I've Done type of scenario.

Now, as for Until It's Gone, I don't like the song at all. It doesn't fit with the mood of The Hunting Party and I'm not sure why the band decided to throw it on the album and not just scrap it after Michael Bay denied the song. The lyrics are what most people seem to hate about it, as well as the fact that it just feels extremely out of place on The Hunting Party. The Hunting Party wasn't a diverse album like some of their other albums that have tons of genres on the same album, it was a rock and metal driven album, and Until It's Gone was the only song to not sound like that.
