which LP font do you like better?

I personally like the HT cover font. It'd be nicer without the backwards 'n' thing or whatever. IMO the 'gothic' font is kinda overused.

 

I like the Asian font logo the best, since thats the type used on my LP teeshirt.

I like the "Gothic" font aka Wilhelm Klingspor Gotisch.

It's designed to resemble the Japanese Katakana characters specifically. So it is correct to call it a Japanese font not just an Asian.

I like the Hybrid Theory cover font best. And I like the backwards N, too. The Gothic font is okay, as well, but it's used a bit too much, imo.

Don't be an ass. I remember reading an interview where Mike, the creator of the logo, called it the "Asian-styled logo."

There's no doubt, it's definitely made to resemble Japanese Katakana. I've done Japanese and I've studied Katakana and the shape and the simpleness of the logo is close if not the same as the characters. It would also make sense because Katakana is used for foreign first/last names, places, and things that can't be written in the normal characters like Linkin Park. If you saw the characters you'd probably understand. Mike's also half Japanese too. One more thing I don't think you should be able to call a person an ass especially if you don't know them even if you are a mod.

 

Fine. You win. But I know what Katakana is. I thought I remembered Mike stating in an interview that it was "Asian-styled," not "Japanese styled." But I was wrong. I didn't need a lesson.

I also don't care what you think I should or shouldn't do – especially when you don't even have 200 posts. If someone's acting like an ass, I'm going to point it out. I do that to anyone and everyone, and everyone else on the forums is allowed to as well (within reason). And quite frankly, Vampire has been nothing but an ass since he joined, with his constant belittling of the staff and other members, and constantly trying to get a rise out of people.
