MegaDeth - Hanger 18 (Dave Mustaine) Rage Against the Machine - Clear the Lane (Tom Morello) Dream Theater - Beyond this Life (John Petrucci) Slayer - Die By the Sword (Jeff Hanneman) Krisiun - Messiah's Abomination (Moyses Kolesne) Metallica - Master of Puppets (Kirk Hammet)
Eric Clapton....pick a song... Cream: Crossroads Spoonful, that second track off of his blues album...the man's incredible.
Lynrd Skynrd's Freebird. Any Clapton solo indeed (I like She's Gone introductory solo on One More Car, One More Rider particularily).
Once upon a time, before Weezer was created, frontman Rivers Cuomo played lead guitar in a terrible hair metal band called "Avant Garde." God damn, he can shread. The only good thing about that band was the guitar solos. Fucking incredible... That having been said, I really like the solo in Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" and just about any solo that Jimmy Page plays. EDIT: Sublime has some great solos. "Seed" is a good one, and the solo in "Santeria" is by far the best part of that entire song.
Did you know he did the solo from The Beatles' 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps?' ...add that to my list. hellflame: No, I just thought it would be a nice alternative to the vanilla PWND.
Hmmm. Motorbreath-Metallica South Of Heaven-Slayer Suicide Messiah-BLS Reborn-Damageplan Anything by Morbid Angel. I mean, really now.
Van Halen-You Really Got Me (I like all the licks in it) Metallica-Master of Puppets GnR-Sweet Child O' Mine They're all awesome.
The solo at the end of Lip Gloss & Black by Atreyu is pretty good. It's simple but with the piano, it sounds awseome.
As I said before when I started this topic,Guns 'N' Roses-Sweet Child O' Mine was the best guitar solo ever but here are a fer runner ups: Metallica-Nothing Else Matters Trivium-Like Light To The Flies The Scorpions-Rock You Like A Hurricane Iron Maiden-No More Lies Black Lable Society-Suicide Messiah
Coffee And TV by Blur has a neat solo. It's just one distorted string with some tapping but it sounds cool with the acoustic rhythm guitar. Other than that I would probably say Cemetery Gates, or most Van Halen and AC/DC songs.
Dream Theater - Under A Glass Moon OR Dream Theater - Voices by John Petrucci Both bleed heart and soul and are technically amazing! B)
