    Did LP say anything about QWERTY beforehand? No. Did they say anything about the live recording of Mountain View 2004 that featured A.06 and Sweet Child O' Mine that took nearly 3 years to track down? No. Did they say anything about the recently discovered Pts.Of.Athrty demo? No.

    Your logic is completely warped and inaccurate, and it's actually starting to get on my nerves.

    Okay okay,
    So, we've got something that is "released early but yet so late"
    That four sites aren't afriad to post. So Warner wont mind too much.
    Something that is apparently significant.

    I'm thinking it's a pre-HT demo or song.
    The production will be semi-awful and sound quite bad.
    I am pretty sure however that those involved would not have generated this much hype unless this was something damn special.
    So I remain hopeful. Yet cynical

    I am sorry you're annoyed. I'll retract my statements if I'm impressed with whatever it is. As for the rest of the weekend, I will not get my hopes up that it is something amazing or worthy of this much hype.

    And by the way, I would not classify the 2004 Mountain View show or the demo of Pts.Of.Athrty worthy of any hype either. My logic is not inaccurate; I feel it has to be brand new or unreleased material to warrant this much press. I am entitled to that opinion.

    Okay, I'm getting a little fed up with the ungratefulness expressed by some people on these boards so I'm going to be fully honest with you people. It is not a new song from the Minutes To Midnight sessions or a Fort Minor track you've never heard before, so you can throw that perception out the window because it has nothing to do with that.

    I can guarantee you right now there are going to be many people who will not think the surprise is worth the hype, and other people will look at it and most likely go "that's it?" because the surprise isn't as shocking or surprising as everyone here is making it out to be.

    It is just something that (to this date) has not appeared on any fansites and is considered highly rare in the fact it's been sought after for a long time. I will not go into details as to what it is, and for those who are ungrateful before knowing what it is, you WILL have to wait till Monday because it's what the 'finder' has specified and therefore we have no other choice.

    I just want to say that if people get disappointed we aren't going to take any responsibility for that disappointment. While we did start the hype, the people posting in here singlehandedly brought the hype to levels that it was, as all we did was just start the discussion and nothing else.

    So with that in mind, for all the people who will be 'let down' there's also going to be many people who are grateful we released this and many people who think we, LPP, LPlive and LPFuse are the shit for it. Only time will tell what side some of you are on.

    Personally I'm excited, and whatever the fuck it is, you guys can hype it all you want, seeing as you're the ones bringing it to us.
    And I'm sure it'll be awesome after all this.

    If you don't mind, I have to respectfully disagree. The four websites chose to post little oddities on their home pages, indicating that something big is about to be released. That's what started the hype. The 21 page thread here is because everybody was making speculations based on the different websites' variations of the news.

    Because to diehard LP collectors this IS a big deal this is getting released, hence the cryptic posts and 4 site partnership.

    But to normal LP fans with unrealistic expectations, it will come off to some of them as poo-poo. Although some of you will praise us for it.

    I urge everyone to have the same mindset of Harlz, instead of expecting the second coming of Ike Turner.

    I read Derek's post thinking much the same thing too. If a bunch of the biggest LP sites get together to crypticly tell us something big is coming, of course that's going to generate mass hype. It's unprecidented, this hasn't happened before, and although the reasons for it have been explained, it still feels like a massive deal has been made out of this.

    Time will tell. Heck, I love any new piece of LP material that comes along, so whatever this is i'll be glad. Infact i'm getting quite exited now.

    I just don't want riots to start on here if some of you are greatly disappointed.

    Although this is a 4 site partnership, LPA alone has brought you some INCREDIBLE true exclusives in the past (Qwerty live HQ months before LPU had it, world premiere of Remember The Name, Phoenix/Joe interview, Morning After remix etc) so I feel we deserve to have a break if something doesn't live up to the hype that has been generated for it.

    I mean don't get me wrong, I think some of you will be like "AWESOME!" but if you are not one of those people, I'd respect it if you leave your hate at the door. We do a lot for our members, and it seems like because of that...sometimes unrealistic expectations are made as a result.
