Purity Ring - push pull
Reminds me lot of CHVRCHES and PVRIS. The vocals are amazing, a bit less memorable than those of Against The Current's Chrissy Costanza, but still very solid.

Her voice sounds really similar to Lynn Gunn's voice. I've only heard 4 of the 10 tracks of Another Eternity and it's already one of the best electropop albums I've heard. The beats work very well and I think what they put out here is what to expect from a duo. Sadly they can't have actual drums, but the way they work the beats and adapt them to her vocals is what shines.

Purity Ring - stillness in woe
An amazing song to wrap this one up. Moving on to their album Shrines next. The least favorite one on Another Eternity was by far Stranger Than Earth. The highlights were push pull (the first I heard that struck me immediately), bodyache (probably the best song, the dreamiest and most chill song), heartsigh (very solid one), dust hymn (like the frantic pace of the chorus and the solid beats on the verses combined with the vocal subtlety, it all gets stuck in the head) and flood on the floor (I'm fond of the clapping sounds in it the electronic beat giving it a Zedd feel to it, also some chipmunk sounds I started to like with LP's OML album, while this song also keeps the vocal quality of the others). I find it good to pick an album randomly by a band I haven't heard and listening to it without any kind of previous album bias, giving it an honest list, it makes me have a better opinion on it

 

Nothing But Thieves - Wake Up Call

stranger than earth is a grower though! I didn't recognize it at the first couple of listens, but then it became my favorite song on the album

 

Bring Me The Horizon - Throne

 

I still have to lisen to their albums more times and the same goes to Tonight Alive's albums (the most recent o my list along with Purity Ring) and many others by other artists, so my opinion regarding some songs can change as it almost always does.
The new single Asido sounds great. Great blend of electronica and soft vocals as in Another Eternity while not overdoing chipmunks as they did in Shrines. In most of it the vocals are not too distant, even though they sound more distant in some parts, but in a very balanced way that brings a lot of variety to the mix. They could benefit more if they weren't just a duo and gathered more musicians to bring more sonic variety, but that would also disrupt their identity because they've just improved their signature sound slightly without foraying into anything too far from it.

One of my favorite BMTH songs (if not favorite) from their best album to date.
