What should be the 4th single

Easier To Run cause its the best song on the album IMO, if there happens to be one, citing Dereks comment.

Figure.09 should be the next single, but then I wouldn't want it to be cause thats my fave song off Meteora

ok first off, LP would never release BTH, weve been over this. Secondly, Pop? Never call anything LP does pop....BTH is anything but "pop"

 

i think it would be really cool if they did Hit the floor or Figure.09. It would be a REAL surprise if they did release BTH but that's VERY unlikely! Sry to brust some of your bubbles

I think Lp's next single should be "Figure.09"! And on the single CD there should be a live recording of "Session," and also the video! But if that doesnt work "Lying From You," or "From The Inside." I dont think LP would ever release a 'different' song like "BTH," or "NL," because its a little too different! Dont you think?

alright this is gonna be somewhat of a novel but i felt like i should register and post my thoughts on the fourth single after seeing many posts

i dont think anyone has realized that lp/warner bros does not nessesarily release the 'best songs'... they release the most radio friendly songs that will make ppl buy the album the first time they hear the song... also lp/warner bros release a variety of songs, that all dont sound the same

if you look at ht... they released osc, the heaviest song... then went to crawling, one of the slowest songs... and then released papercut, a fast song... the last official single was ite, another slow song and the catchiest (i.e. saving the best for last)... they released it in that order for specific reasons, they didnt just pull the best songs out of a hat and release them like that.

so for a single to be released, in my opinion it has to be catchy, something that stays good no matter how many times you listen to it, and a song that is relevent in relation to the previous single...

if you look at meteora singles, the first was sib, a slow song and a unique one in that it was optimistic... to show variety, they next released 'faint' which was fast and somewhat heavy... the next single is numb which is the slowest on the album...

to provide variety, lp has to release a heavy song, which for the fourth single (but not nessesarily future singles) rules out easier to run, from the inside (which would have been a good choice for 3rd single), breaking the habit (unless they decide that the fourth single is the last)

so this all leads up to my prediction of the next single... which i think should be lying from you, because it has a unique sample, is a heavy song, and has catchy guitars and a catchy chorus. the other choice would be 'dont stay'... figure.09 is not catchy enough... and although hit the floor is my favorite, it has too much screaming and only few ppl would like it first time they hear it... session is obviously not a single, and nobody's listening is too obscure to be a single... so my prediction is LYING FROM YOU

on the otherhand i believe breaking the habit would be a great single although it is personal... and a lot of the things ppl have said on here, they have two sources for knowledge... an interview in early jan about breaking the habit where chester said it is too personal to be a single and an lpu chat which he said more or less the same thing... on the otherhand he also said that it was by far his favorite song and hes kinda disappointed that lp wrote it b/c it would be a lot easier for him to love it if it was written by another band... bth would definetely be a very radio friendly song... most ppl dont listen to the lyrics anyway... but it is lps choice whether it is a single or not... definetely a make or break situation

true... but the point being... it is pretty unlikely that the two slowest songs on the album would be released right after another

 

Yeah, I understand.

But I doubt there will be another single anyway. After the European tour and Japanese tour, Linkin Park will probably head home and play a few shows and then Chester's going to have surgury on his hernia.

There probably won't be a fourth single unless they shoot Chester singing from a hospital bed.

 

yeah... its pretty questionable as of now for a fourth single, with chesters hernia thing and touring... but i think meteora is too good of a cd just to have 3 singles
