    Sound Of My Voice (2011) - 7.5/10

So uh, what? This film is about two journalists who join a cult in order to learn their secrets and create a documentary. The cult leader Maggie, played by Brit Marling (Another Earth), claims to have traveled back in time from the year 2054 after awakening in a bathtub one day in the present day. As expected with a movie about cults, the two main protagonists begin to lose grip on their main objective, and of what they know is real and what isn't.

A lot of the movie is intentionally left vague and up for interpretation, including the ending. Brit Marling and the filmmakers confirmed that there isn't one "real" ending/story, the details are left up to you. So if you're not a fan of things like that, this movie probably isn't for you. I found it interesting enough though.

By the way, is that the one with the cyborg or is it a different one?

YES. I actually gave it a 10/10 on my blog I believe. I don't often buy DVDs, but you can bet with Moonrise Kingdom I will.

^ Yeah man, great little film it was.

Jackie Brown (1997) - 4/5 - Loved it just like any other Tarantino film. The plot seemed a bit too convoluted for my taste, but it could be one of those films that needs to be watched more than once to get the full effect. Great performances all around.

    God Bless America - 7/10

It was good, but it missed almost every opportunity to do anything meaningful with the subject matter. All it did was bash America for being shallow, hateful, and dumbed down, which everyone already knows. Therefore it was basically just a solid action flick with running commentary on how fucked society is. It had a bunch of chances to go deeper and make people think, but it didn't go that route. Still a cool movie.

I forgot to mention, the movie has an interactive website where you can watch the first 12 minutes, as well as take a look at some of the viral/ARG marketing they did.

The Avengers 9/10. But I'll never watch it again. It's pure action and fun, nothing to see twice, because it wont impress me anymore...
BTW, check the honest trailer for it, really funny:

I didn't notice they had no ear pieces at the end

    Project X - 6/10

It was actually way better than I thought it'd be. Decently funny, lots of hot girls with nice tits, and a compact runtime. I don't feel bad about spending the time to watch this.

I dunno if we have any Michigan residents around here, but for those who are interested, I've just a review of a documentary called Detropia. It's directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, the duo that produced the more well-known Jesus Camp about Evangelicals during the Bush presidency. Detropia is about how the story of Detroit is the story of the rest of America. Check it out here:

Really wanting to see this. From what I hear, the film is far more to offer than what the trailers would lead one to believe.

Really? From the premise I was about to write it off. I might just have to check it out now.
