    Shoot 'Em Up.

I do think my dog could've written a better movie plot, yet, due to the massive amounts of violence, I was still mildly entertained and watched the entire thing.

    Shoot Em Up. 10/10.

I just love comedy and a lot of violence. Hell, it didn't even have that much of a plot and it was bad ass.

    Cloverfield 8/10

Great special effects, great plot, good scare factor and lots of action. With that said, I have a huge complaint about this movie and that is this:

I believe one reviewer said that he hates when a director takes artistic liberties at the expense of the audience themselves. Cloverfield would have to be a prime example of that. The movie was often out of focus, the camera was constantly shaky..and even though it was supposed to be that way (since it was supposed to be filmed by an 'amateur' with a DV-Cam) it ruined the movie slightly for me because my eyes could hardly focus on what was going on at times. It could've been such a better movie had they given the audience a break at times and actually had most of the still shots IN FOCUS which they did not. Motion Sickness medicine is recommended before watching this flick.

Overall, it could've been so much better if the camera work was not so erratic and there were not so many 'camera pointed down' shots as they were running. It's what kept me from giving this flick a perfect 10.

Otherwise everything else about the film was fantastic and there is some tearjerking acting in this film. Very believable due to how it was done.

    Sweeney Todd - 9/10

This film, is amazing O_O I'll be honest, as excited as I was about this film, I wasn't sure how I would react to it. I love Johnny Depp, I love Tim Burton, and I love musicals, so it seemed like absolute heaven in theory. And much to my satisfaction, it was heaven on the big screen too.

The singing was top notch, and Johnny Depp can really sing. It was so dark and Burton-esque. In a way, I don't think it deserved the 18 certificate it got over here. There was a lot of blood...but come on, it looked like paint!

Watch this if you like the combination of brilliance I described above. It's a bit slow to start, and the ending is very abrupt and (in my opinion) shocking, but it's worth it. If you don't like musicals...I can't see you liking this at all

Cloverfield. I don't know what to rate it. But it wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe a 6/10.

Personally I thought the acting was really over-the-top and the camera work was the strength. But that's because I didn't go into the movie expecting a movie where you watched every move the monster made. The movie wasn't about the monster, it was about the people who were stuck in the middle of the city during what just so happened to be a monster attack.

I personally just watched Brokeback Mountain and I am not ashamed in the slightest to admit I watched the movie because it was fantastic, and definitely worth all of the hype and attention it had received when it first was released.

I'll admit upfront that I originally did not have much of a desire to watch this movie (despite the good reviews) because the storyline itself didn't really seem to appeal to me, and it seemed more like it was an attempt by the director/screenwriter to shock the audiences, than it was an attempt to be creative and break new grounds.

Boy was I wrong, and I officially take back every pre-conception or criticism that I might of had about this film before watching it. A lot of straight guys out there who have not seen it yet probably don't want to see it because of the two main characters have a homosexual relationship, and they're afraid they'll come off less straight if they see this film.

All I have to say is: Grow up, and if gay sex offends you that much, then you'll be happy to know both female lead characters do get topless in this film which will help you get back some of that 'lost masculinity'.

HOWEVER, If you (like me) decide to put your prejudice aside and take this movie for what it is, you will be decently surprised by the fine acting, brilliant storyline and tear jerking ending that seemingly comes out of nowhere. I won't spoil what happens in the ending for any of you who plan to actually watch it someday, but it is a big surprise for anyone who thought the movie would have a happy ending and that everything would all work out in the end. It doesn't, and that's what makes this movie so genius. It forces you to think, and become less narrow minded, all while delivering a message that you should respect the ones you love because you never know when you will have to say goodbye.

Brilliant film. A sheer sign that Heath Ledger was on his way to be one of our generation's finest film stars. He was a great talent, who was taken from this world far too soon, and I hope he rests in peace. Heath Ledger, you will be missed.

    Cloverfield (8/10)

So far this is definitely movie of the year. I was completely blown away by how realistically it was filmed. Incredible. I did feel dizzy after watching it though, but it was worth it.
