I actually always thought that given their typical mixing of ambient electronic sounds and general heavy songs, an industrial sounding album from Linkin Park was inevitable. It's something they haven't done that's still in the realm of what they have done.
There are many facets to Industrial. NIN has been doing it for well over 20 years and most of his songs are Industrial without sounding bland or repetitive. But that's not even full on Industrial. The band Coil is an example of all out Industrial - more ambiance and drones and spatial sounds. NIN doesn't delve quite as deep into Industrial. Trent even goes really light with some Industrial Pop now and then like on The Slip. There's many aspects of Industrial that Linkin Park could pick and choose from and incorporate into their music very easily. It'd be right up their alley like Xero said. A lot of electronic elements can easily be turned into Industrial with distortion and bit rate reduction. Dave's bass would fit the role with some tweaking. They already use a lot of ambient sounds that would fit right in. They could rig up Rob with some sick Industrial percussion. Mike has already made some Industrial sounding songs before, and LP hasn't been that far away from it at times. It would be very cool to see them create an album with that goal in mind. It would certainly be interesting if nothing else. More than I can say about the majority of Living Things.

Suddenly an album with similar sounding songs is boring and bland. Hmmmm I suppose that suddenly makes Hybrid Theory boring and bland as well? The hypocrisy continues... I for one would love an industrial heavy sound for Linkin Park to explore. If it comes even close to the bad-assery of their Wish cover and combines their experimental structuring then consider me sold!
Well, I personally don't regard "Hybrid Theory" as being overly homogenous ... but, in any case, I like the way the band's recent albums have been all over the place in terms of sounds. Whatever "industrial" is, yes, it sounds like something that Linkin Park could touch on and do some cool stuff with. If an entirely "industrial" Linkin Park album could still be a fairly varied piece of work, then, yeah, I would like that. If it can match their most recent couple of albums in terms of stylistic diversity or whatever, that'd be awesome.
There are probably a few examples of things that could be described as "industrial" on "Reanimation". "1Stp Klosr" and "Pts.Of.Athrty" spring to mind for me
