So we are all really critical about music. Instead of saying what we don't like about songs, or what song is better than another, let's talk about what we like about a song. it doesn't have to be a 5,000 word dissertation, nor a one word answer, just an explaination of what you like about the song mentioned before. it can be anything from parts of the song, certain lyrics, melodies, beats or whatever you want it to be. If it reminds you of something, that's awesome! Let us know. After you give what you like about the song, put another song title down so the next person can share. I want this thread to maintain a positive outlook, so please if you're going to give answers like "Nothing" and "I hate everything about that song," do us a favor, don't comment. I'll start with Blackout Driving into work today, I was really amazed at the sincerity in Mike's voice. It's a very refreshing and positive change to the tone of the song. The next song is Leave Out All The Rest
leave out all the rest For the longest time this mine and my friends song. Doesn't really fit anymore, but it still holds a special space the messenger
The Messenger It's the biggest surprise in the entire A Thousand Suns, since it is the only acoustic track out of the extravagant album. It makes my day better. Papercut
Papercut One of my most favorite track on HT and one of Linkin Park's most emblematic songs, as it's the first one on their debut album. I love the lyrics and Mike's rap, as well as the final part of the song, which sounds even better live, imo. Hands Held High
hands held high This song is full of qoutes that I just love. And I love Mike's vocals at the end. hit the floor
Of course I come in and the song I have to do this for is from Meteora. FINE. Hit The Floor The little guitar divebomb at the end. I guess. Empty Spaces
By Myself I liked the soft, atmospheric tune played during Mike's raps and when Chester comes, it's utter chaos. This was the first song that featured Chester's screaming that finishes Mike's raps. This was a style frequently used by the band afterwards. Not Alone
Blackbirds I love how the song was meant to sound unfinished and viceral. From Mikes first rap in the beginning to how Chester's verses and choruses sound unpolished like on Valentine's Day makes a great addition to the MTM collection of songs. In Pieces
Nobody's Listening I love how Mike showed respect to Jay Z with the opening line of the song. Also, this song stuck out as a send off to Fort Minor. I still enjoy listening to it regularly. Session (to go along with Pidgey)
Session I just actually found out that it was nominated for a Grammy for best instrumental, but lost in the end. That's not bad.. Plus, it gives me a weird combination of motivation and relaxation. Faint
Faint Fast, energetic, awesome live. I remember when I first heard Meteora and Faint started, I immediately thought "wow, this song's awesome! I bet it's gonna be the next single!" and it was. And it was awesome. Awesome. The Little Things Give You Away
The Little Things Give you away was the song I couldn't stop listening to when going to Dresden, Germany, some years ago. I was practically listening to it the moment I woke up until I went to bed again. I can't even start to explain how deep this song touches me. Chesters voice is incredible and the end kind of reminds me of the end of Robot Boy, it just gives me the same kind of chill. You would think that 7 minutes is way too long for a song, but it just doesn't get boring, at no point. I still want to see it live really badly. Next song Across the line
Qwerty Again, I found out recently that they had written this song on the plane ride to Japan or throughout the tour, so it has a really raw feel to it. Also, a fast-paced, high energy song that bids farewell to the nu-metal sound of Linkin Park. From The Inside
