I grew up listening to my parent's records (of my own accord). Stuff like Queen. Occasionally Phil Collins Good times... *sighs*
When I was 10 I listened to a lot of Boyzone, Robbie Williams, Westlife, Steps as well as anything my mum listened to, which was similar. I was 12 when I went to America on holiday and 'How You Remind Me' by Nickelback was on all the time. That kinda got me into different music, and it changed my brother too.
I always listened to what ever was in the top 40, so dance/pop mainly but then I found the likes of the offspring, limp bizkit, papa roach and linkin park.
Same. Exactly same (except not Phil Collins so much, more Genesis. But it's same basicly) Oh. Plus Deep Purple. Turning points for me though were hearing Hybrid Theory (introduced me to heavier side of music), Sum 41's All Killer No Filler, Sum 41 Performing Master of Puppets from MTV icon (got me into Metallica, now almost my favourite band). Finaly, most recently, hearing Triviums Ascendancy.
I wasn't really into music that much at that age. The stuff i did listen to was your really mainstream stuff like BSB and Christina Aguilera. Also there was alot of the stuff my parents listen to like 80's stuff (which i still love) but yeah, wasn't really a music fan, now i can't get enough! I'm glad to say that my taste has improved over the years though. I've got an entire cupboard full of music i haven't listened to in years.
Nickelback and Linkin Park. Only Nickelback and Linkin Park. Now I never realy listen to them, but I do like them for getting me into music.
