Where's my "Access to preview clips from the album beginning two weeks before release date" ? (For pre-orders through linkinpark.com) Should be any time now!!
I keep trying to tell you guys that "2 weeks before" in this sense, doesn't have to mean the exact 2 week mark. It could come any time this week. Could be today. Could be Sunday.
Let's look at the definition of a week: "a period of seven successive days, usually understood as beginning with Sunday and ending with Saturday." So that's 7 days, exactly. Which makes 2 weeks 14 days. I see no word's that say "around" or "couple." I see TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE RELEASE DATE. Which means 14 days from September 14th. 14 days from now is September 14th. Well I be darned, that means today is 14 days from September 14th. Which means we should get an email, TODAY. LP.com actually took the time to say words like "around" and "on or before" regarding other items. So why wouldn't they say the same for this? Yes, maybe it's a typo. But considering the fact that they already edited the page once, I would think someone would change the wording if necessary. I promise this is the last time that I will bitch about this. I hate www.linkinpark.com. It's an embarrassment (if we don't get something today).
Okay? Remember when they told us we'd get The Catalyst before anyone else heard it? Except actually, we got it on the day of release, AFTER it aired on the radio. What exactly gives you the confidence that linkinpark.com is going to stick to the strict definition of 2 weeks? I guarantee you by "2 weeks" they mean "any time during the second to last week before release." So again, it could be today. It could be Sunday. We don't know.
I know that's what's literally true.. but past experiences are telling me that there's always an implied "around" written in there.
Maybe my post didn't quite capture my thoughts. I don't have confidence that lp.com will deliver. I'm saying that with the way it's worded, it would be yet another outrage. If I had a million dollars, I would bet we won't get the clips today. Even though the wording says it's today.
Because you noticed that it was on LP.com and claimed it bullshit. And frankly, I don't blame you. I wish we could rename this thread "Let's bitch about lp.com"
I'm not bitching about lp.com, it just sorta slipped my own mind! I will be checking every day now though!
It says "BEGINNING two weeks before release date." Meaning that today is the absolute soonest they would even CONSIDER sending out ONE preview clip, let alone clips of the entire album. The word "beginning" being in that sentence implies a gradual rollout of pre-release media, and also doesn't guarantee that anyone will actually get anything today, just that today is the earliest they should expect anything.
Then they're just being stupid. Why say it's gonna start 2 weeks before release and then release something 10 or 7 day before. They know exactly when they're gonna release them, and should just say it.
If we're to take the quote literally. BEGINNING - we should be getting at least one clip STARTING today (not starting tomorrow, or the day after, or in a week)
