This thread is stupid enough to have made me feel stupid since I can't really find words to describe how I feel about it and I have to resort to saying this instead

...And then there was this thread...

Mike on the concept of the faint video:

"We haven't gotten a chance to do very many interviews about the concept behind the faint video yet, so I figured I'd let you guys know a little bit of the background on what's really going on...

Joe was too busy to do the video, so we accepted ideas from other directors. Mark romanek's caught our eye.

The song is about feeling ignored. We decided on Mark's idea because of how it visually interprets this theme. For most of the song, the band is ignored by an unusual antagonist; the camera. It shoots our backs and never focuses in on our faces until chester snaps in the bridge. We thought the concept was very strong because of the unconventional way in which mark attacked the subject. He really came through with creating an energetic, dark atmosphere without making a dark video that doesn't look like every other dark video.

Glad you guys like it and hope this little insight helps to make the video even cooler."

And so you know, the whole quote of myself from the other thread wasn't all together wrong either. The camera wanted to focus on the crowd and their energy, not the band.
