Yes, it's the next single and they wouldn't release it fully (at least as a single) prior to the album's release date. It's usually first single, album, following singles. Usually. Who knows though? LP are aiming for "genre-busting" after all so they may possibly have persuaded their label to bust other "rules" as well. No sarcasm intended.

Finally, some really positive output from this album. With the Catalyst I was really worried that the album would sound just like MtM, but it seems like LP is finally doing more than just anything BUT nu-metal; it really seems as though they're pushing the envelope with this release.

The Catalyst sounds like MTM to you? o_O

  6. MIKE'S GONE REGGAE. :)
This album is gonna be incredibly diverse. The 3 songs sound really different. Mike's part shines. And chester's singing is beautiful, along with the harmonies.

This album needs to be released now.

Just because people have not blindly followed the band on everything they've done doesn't mean they aren't "true fans" or "real fans" or that they shouldn't be allowed to post on LPA because they don't "like" some of the new music. That's foolish. A "real fan" would respect other people's opinions, and not question another fans' "fandom" just because they don't like some songs off of A Thousand Suns.

Pink Floyd is a legendary band. Do you think their fans liked everything they made, or thought every record was the best? I guarantee you they did not.

I like this. A lot. I'm digging how each of the three songs we've heard (at least from what we've heard of Waiting For The End) have very distinguished, unique sounds, even from one another. The Catalyst was very electronic with some heavy techno influence, Wretches And Kings was very grungy and had a lot of rap elements in it, and now we have this, which seems to have some power ballad lyrics from Chester and some seriously reggae lyrics from Mike. I love what can be heard of Chester, and I'm very intrigued to hear more of Mike's part. I think it could really work.

All I know is I'm damn excited for this album.

Yeah you're right on that, or at least partially imo ( if people want to see themselves as a true fan for some reason then that also should be okay and not just foolish, it's only a personal view of oneself I guess so it doesn't even matter )! I think nobody's to judge anyone in anyway on the other hand! I liked the quote that I used because there seems to be a lot of negativity around 'bout LP's latest in comparison to other/normal days.

It's always great to hear some enthousiastic reactions about the music that 'you'/I like and when it's the other way around I feel attacked :p ( yeah I'm that emotional about LP :sweating: ). That's why I enlarged the positive reaction that I read.

And it's sooooow possible to like everything about a band, anyone agrees? :awesome:

Yes, but it doesn't make you more of a fan than someone who doesn't.
