Them Crooked Vultures' album has only thirteen tracks, and is 1:06.

To mention TOOL is another world (still, they are not less than 70).
But a more "traditional" could be Year Zero, 16 tracks with a short intro and a couple of shorter than 3 minutes songs, it still reaches 63 minutes.

 

Cure for the itch and session were at about the 2:30 mark. So instrumentals can still be lengthy! About the length of the Catalyst...I'm not sure how that did get confirmed...did it? lol

Crack The Skye by Mastodon has seven tracks and is about 50 minutes long.

 

haha maybe. Or am i wrong, or many songs gets "cut" for the video, shortened to fit into tv schedules or something... maybe it was not the full version... dunno. I saw many like that. AFter all, Shadow of the Day didn't have the outro in the video neither.
About the french article, apart the lenght, they also said "A Thousand Suns" appears in the lyrics, and that was correct too.

 

A lot of the bands I listen to (especially Power/Symphonic/Epic Metal) all have albums which are no less than 50 minutes.

Now, if you want me to mention a well-known band with long albums, I could say Limp Bizkit. All their albums are at least 1 hour long.

 

Really? That's pretty odd. A lot of the albums I have are over 50 minutes.

Off the top of my head I can list:

-Every Tool album
-Pretty much every Metallica album (I don't think RTL is over 50 min)
-Lupe Fiasco's albums
-NIN- Downward Spiral, The Fragile (although it's a double), With Teeth, Year Zero
-Every Eminem album
-Muse-Absolution and The Resistance
-Radiohead- OK Computer

Regardless of the length, I'm just as excited for this as you guys are. We played the MOH trailer probably 10 times here at the office when we got it. haha.

 

Yeah, for all we know the song begins/ends with a long instrumental. Radios/MTV will eat that up like candy.

 

MTM is 43 mins long with only 2 songs over 4 minutes....... so this album must be more than 45 minutes. but i would say intro outro and an instrumental thrown in
