Wow 7,35 Euros for two tracks? Seriously? The other thing I need to complain about is that Until It's Gone is still not available on iTunes in DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). I wonder why. Call it what you want.
I'm assuming this single is why, hahaha. This is being released in Germany on the 30th so I guess that's the single's release date in Germany? Maybe? Kinda? Who knows, this is a Linkin Park single, of course nothing is ever clear or straight forward.
I just find it funny that the one time in recent times that a remix would be greatly appreciated, it's nowhere in sight. (IMO, obviously.)
Well, throwing the word promotional in front of it does in fact change its meaning. Promotional singles can be distributed for free (previous to the album's release) for, exactly as the title suggests, promotional means. Alternative to that (which is often the case) is distributing the promo to radio and tv stations only. Often times you will see promo singles with a label stating "Licensed for promotional use only. Sale is prohibited." In Guilty All The Same's case, it was neither distributed to only media stations or given out for free, so it's not a promotional single.
Awesome, I agree. I even said in my post that GATS was a single. Going off of the part I bolded you could technically argue that any song that gets sent to radio is a promotional single as long as it's via physical disk. A promotional single is a type of disk, not just a method of how it's released. The funny thing is that with GATS, an actual promo disk exists and a retail version doesn't. I know what a promo is, my wording in the news post wasn't meant to suggest that it was radio only or anything like that, but that it was the first single that promoted The Hunting Party. That's all. Wasn't really trying to be pedantic about it. The promo contained both versions as a 2-Track. Pretty sure you could find some on eBay at this very moment.
Sadly, Wikipedia refuses to recognize this, which is why I'm a mortal enemy of Wikiproject:Music at the moment.
Ah, gotcha. I was simply trying to clear up any possible misconceptions. and that's pretty awesome, I'll keep an eye out for that promo disk!
