1. Mark the Graves 2. A Line in the Sand 3. Keys to the Kingdom 4. Guilty All the Same 5. Rebellion Mentions: War, Drawbar, Final Masquerade.
1. A Line In The Sand - A masterpiece in my eyes. I've listened to this song everyday since the album released and I still love it as much as the first listen. 2. Guilty All The Same - Another masterpiece in my eyes. This and ALITS are two songs from THP that are now on my 10 ten LP songs. The intro to this song is just so epic. Every time I hear this track and ALITS, I feel LP really outdid themselves with those 2 songs. 3. Mark The Graves - I LOVE this song. It's so different and weird and it's still so captivating. I like the lyrics, I like the instrumental. All of it. 4. Keys To The Kingdom - Because this song is sick as fuck. I can't wait for the band to play this and ALITS live. 5. Final Masquerade - Great song. Great melody and amazing singing from Chester. Rebellion is a close 6th.
I'm a bit tired of FM and feel like skipping it when I listen to the album in full(BUT I DON'T BECAUSE I DON'T SKIP SONGS) but other than that, I really enjoy everything else.
Guilty All the Same Final Masquerade Rebellion Keys to the Kingdom I can't really come up with a fifth. The way I see it, these 4 songs are leagues better than the rest of the album.
First two positions are pretty clear, the rest is hard to choose & sort. It could change sometime. 1.) Guilty All The Same 2.) Final Masquerade ------------------------ 3.) War 4.) Rebellion 5.) A Line In The Sand
1. Mark the Graves 2. A Line in the Sand 3. Guilty all the Same 4. Until it's Gone 5. All for Nothing Notable mention to Rebellion, although it really gets less novel after Malakian makes his entrance on the song, and special note to War for me hating it even more than The Summoning.
Ok, 3 months later update. I still don't like this album, but the least I can do is give my top 5. 1. Final Masquerade 2. Keys To The Kingdom 3. Until It's Gone 4. War 5. Drawbar It's not really the heaviness so much as it is Mike that pretty much ruins the rest of the album for me.
An update from June, not much has changed: 1. Keys To The Kingdom - This is a 3-minute song perfected. Absolutely no comparison. 2. A Line In The Sand - The most epic track Linkin Park has ever conceived. Basically the song that I've dreamed about since 2007. 3. Rebellion - Linkin Park covers System of a Down. Nuff said. 4. Mark The Graves - A Thousand Suns meets heavy metal. 5. Guilty All The Same - A behemoth of a song plain and simple.
Though my top 5 remains (mostly) the same, I feel the need to update their positions. War Drawbar Mark The Graves Rebellion Guilty All The Same
