Nightwish (most of you probably never heard of them, but they are one of the best Symphonic Metal bands in the world and definitely one you should give a try, at least to each of the songs mentioned) 1 Ghost Love Score (true masterpiece from 2004´s Once album) 2 Nemo 3 Dark Chest of Wonders 4 The Poet and The Pendulum (other masterpiece from the great album Dark Passion Play) 5 Sahara 6 Ever Dream 7 Edema Ruh (one of the best from the new album Endless Forms Most Beautiful) 8 The Phantom of The Opera (great metal version of the classic) 9 Amaranth 10 Storytime 11 Last Ride of The Day 12 Élan 13 Alpenglow 14 My Walden 15 Stargazers 16 Eva 17 The Greatest Show On Earth (24 minute epic song from new album Endless Forms Most Beautiful) 18 Shudder Before The Beautiful 19 Wish I Had an Angel 20 Wishmaster 21 The Kinslayer 22 Bless The Child 20 was a short number for the quality songs they have in every of their albums They are currently on the third lead singer so it always depends on which one people like best, I really enjoy the new one, Floor Jansen is extremely talented.
I mean, it's not really an artist per se, but there's not really a good way of categorizing it otherwise, so... Disney: Out There (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) Friend like Me (Aladdin) The Bells of Notre Dame (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) You’re Welcome (Moana) Hellfire (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) The Flik Machine (A Bug’s Life) Digga Tunnah Dance (The Lion King 1 ½) Prince Ali (Aladdin) Go the Distance (Hercules) We Know the Way (Moana) I’m Still Here (Jim’s Theme) (Treasure Planet) Part of Your World (The Little Mermaid) Two Worlds (Tarzan) Under the Sea (The Little Mermaid) Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah (Song of the South) I’ll Make a Man Out of You (Mulan) Circle of Life (The Lion King) Colors of the Wind (Pocahontas) Perfect World (The Emperor’s New Groove) Snuff Out the Light (Yzma's Song) (Outtake from Empire of the Sun, predecessor to The Emperor's New Groove)

They are surely a great band. I was sad I couldn´t see them live in Portugal last year for Endless Forms Most Beautiful tour, but I hope to go to one of their gigs in the future. What songs do you like the most by them?

This was the best top 30 I could make, but it's really dificult to decide between some songs which should be a bit higher or a bit lower because they are so similar in terms of quality and my top 30 can be constantly changing. Under My Skin is now my 2nd best Avril album with only one song I like less, which is He Wasn't. I still can't get the songs Girlfriend and Hello Kitty, they are catchy and all, but the lyrics are strange. Also most of the songs of the album The Best Damn Thing fall into that category of catchy, but strange songs, so that is why I ranked The Best Damn Thing her worst album. I still find some of the songs in The Best Damn Thing strange, but I can now listen to it in one go and know more of the lyrics now. It's still the worst record by her, though. I have to show my appreciation for the song Black Star, which was not included due to being too short, but definitely one of the best ways, if not the best to start an album. That song resembles what a song with mostly piano and vocals should be. Album Distribution Let Go 4 Under My Skin 9 The Best Damn Thing 3 Goodbye Lullaby 9 Avril Lavigne 5 @Blake, I had to edit this one. I've been listening to her songs every single day and it was impossible to keep this as a top 20 only. Avril is by now my 2nd best artist only behind LP (best act of the 2000s) and ahead of artists like Evanescence (too short discography for a band like them), Nightwish (gave rise to Symphonic Metal, but even though Tarja's voice is one of the best female voices ever I would like to understand what she sings and for the band to have less complex lyrics even considering they deal with themes related to Fantasy in most songs), Within Temptation (beautiful voice, but not consistent on the first 2 abums), Epica (in many songs the growls just don't work in complementing Simone Simons' voice), Keane (1 very good album, in the others just one or 2 good songs) and Alanis Morisette (her best album is her collection of best songs, has fallen a lot in quality since 2005). I'm hyped for Avril's new album, which I hope will come later in 2017 and will deal with the way she went through Lyme Disease and the feelings she had during those hard times.

I would score the first two albums a bit higher, like 7 or 8, but still good, Goodbye Lullabye is a kind of music tjat is so soothing to hear and she does great from start to finish, definitely my top album by a solo female artist, even more that Alanis Morisette's big album Jagged Little Pill. I wouldn't give a score so low to The Best Damn Thing because you have Innocence, Anything Back But You and Keep Holding On (one of the best movie songs ever) to compensate and same on the self-titled, you have Let Me Go, Bad Girl, Hello Heartache, Here's To Never Growing Up and Rock N Roll to clear songs like Hello Kitty from your mind.
Those aren't album scores man. Those are how many songs from each album make up the top 20. My album scores would be: 1. Goodbye Lullabye- 9.7 2. Under My Skin- 9.5 3. Let Go- 9.5 4. Avril Lavigne- 6 5. The Best Damn Thing- 3 Have you heard that Regional at Best is actually on Spotify but just locked to everyone? Someone told me how to make it unlocked but it just broke my Spotify and I had to redownload it. Interesting theory that aparently some people have achieved success in.
Makes sense, my mistake. Well, I wouldn´t rank the first two so high, probably 8 or 8,5 each and Goodbye Lullaby is a 10. Self-Titled is 7/10 and The Best Damn Thing 4 or 5, even though Girlfriend was the first song ever to hit the 100 million mark on Youtube, quite a milestone at the time.
That's fair. We basically agree about the tiers of the album just different rankings. But my ranking system is weird to some people. Anyway, I just realized I forgot I Love You! So that makes 9 songs from Goodbye Lullabye in my top 20!
That one is very good as well, should have been on my top 20 as well. I remember playing a game called Guess The Song and always failed on Avril's I'm With You, but from then the song grew on my and now I discovered it was from her. Of course Sk8er Boi, Complicated, What The Hell, Wish You Were Here and Keep Holding On I had already listened to. From Goodbye Lullaby almost all songs have top 20 quality, not because the others suck (never that for Avril), but they're just so good. I'm eager to play all her albums I bought, I don't have a CD player or sound system by now and my computer has no place for CDs, but I'll play them for sure without being on Spotify or Youtube videos. I guess I'm becoming a Black Star (Avril fans nickname).
