The song is definitely much better in high quality. It never ceases to amaze me how much Dustin's vocals improve from album to album. He is criminally underrated among modern rock singers. That and the band's lyrics are brilliant as always.
I was at the Thrice concert in Munich yesterday. I've seen many different shows so far (from Rock to Extreme Metal), but this one is definitely in my personal top 3. The band was so tight and on point and the crowd was really into it. They played about 20 songs and I couldn't complain. Since they've already got such a broad discography it's nearly impossible anyway to please everyone with their setlist. They played songs from all albums except Identity Crisis (the first one) plus their new single The Grey. I definitely recommend seeing them live if they play anywhere close. Such a great, but somehow still a little underrated, band. The opening act was this new band Brutus from Belgium. A three piece. Pretty intense mix of different Rock, Punk and Metal styles. Even some Blast beats and Black Metal riffs. The most interesting part is their drummer Stefanie. She sings and plays the drumms simultaneously. Might have to listen to their debut album to form a proper opinion.

Went on Twitter/Facebook to find the official announcement but according to reddit the news broke on Chorus.fm? Man in terms of press this album cycle has been nothing but obscure so far. Kind of disappointed by the album title, but the songs themselves sound promising. And I was really hoping the album in early August at the latest. Middle of September is an eternity! That said this band can practically do no wrong so I'm very excited, and the Apple Music image provided on reddit has song lengths for Only Us (3:44) and The Dark (3:49) so hopefully one will release in July and another in August.
Sounds a little different and I'm abolutely loving it! Imo Thrice are at their best when they experiment. Now I'm even more excited for the new album.
This is quite different for them. Such use of synths in the band sounds fresh Reminds me of Thirty Second To Mars, actually.
Palms leaked. First impressions are it feels like the bombastic songwriting found in To Be Everywhere merged with the grounded performances of Beggars and the experimentation dabbled with in Water/Air EP. While every track follows a simple structure, they all sound sonically different, with most throwing instrumental curveballs halfway through to great effect. While currently I think it ranks somewhere in the upper-middle of their discography, it also oozes with substance that I feel will take several listens to fully appreciate. Best tracks are Only Us, The Dark, and Beyond The Pines.
Yeah the album is really good. Every track has its own thing going on. Also it was a pretty fitting listen during a flight I had yesterday. It reminds me a lot of the Air EP. Digging it!
