    My advice, talk to Will and make sure whether he is going to be a god damn good admin, or a crappy one who breaks the rules and leaves all the time and causes drama.

    Your right Derek, I really do mean LPA is a horrible fansite. I mean, why else would I spend all of my time on this website. I'll tell you. It's because of the Linkin Park forum.

    Just for the record, I'm being sarcastic.

    I have to defend Will. It was not solely his decision to ban Casey. I supported it.

    Give me whatever backlash you want, but this was not only Will's decision.

    Right on. Will is a cool guy, but that does not necessarily means a good admin. Moderation of a forum must not be influenced by the changing temper of a person.

    C) I'm pretty sure Will has problems with me because of the arguement in the 30 Seconds To Mars thread a month or two ago.

    I think Casey only deserves a temporary suspension, I doubt he was serious about killing Branden, like I dont think he's another Bryan.

    Derek, don't take any of this personally because I think you're a good admin. But I disagree with some of what you said.

    1) Casey should have gotten his third warning months ago? Maybe you're right. But he didn't. And what he did get warned for was dumb, in my opinion. He and Branden were joking around.

    2) There is a big difference between unmoderated forums like the LPMB and super-tight moderation. I don't think anyone here, including Paul, would ever take the LPMB over the LPA. Overall I think you guys find a good balance, but there are times when yes, I think it goes overboard.

    3) Paul is the only one who said he thought the LPA was the worst run fansite, so I'm going to assume that was only directed at him. I don't think anyone would be here if we didn't think the LPA was well run.

    But you know, it would feel nice to think that maybe when a member said "Whoa, that was way to harsh." We'd get more then a lecture about how hard it is to moderate forums and how much we don't understand. Maybe it's just my personality, but to tell you the truth a lot of admins do not seem approachable. Obviously I can't see what goes on in the staff forums, so maybe you guys do talk about our opinions--but nothing ever seems to change. We just recently had a huge group hug - AKA "This Animosity Needs To Stop" thread, and yet here we are all over again.

    Your opinion counts 100%. I just dont think its necessary for someone to call us a bad fansite because they dont agree with us.

    Yes Paul took it back, but when members say they dont like the way we do things it's always in a disrespectful manner. We only got somewhere in that thread when people started being NICE and not harsh.

    I accept your opinions, but we could only give Casey so many chances. He called LJ a spic off the forums and gave me attitude when I asked him to stop. It might be off the forums, but if we have someone like that posting on here...then I really, really, am disappointed in us. I loathe racists with a passion, and if our rules extended to off site policies, I would've banned him back then.

    Very well said.

    Many people have a problem with Will being the harshest one, so it's kind of pointless to continue talking about harshness when he's the one who's gone. We'll see how it all plays out in the next few days.

    And Paul did say some overly harsh things but it was in the heat of the moment, so I understand that.

    Permission to change the topic title, Paul, considering you've gone back on what you've said?

    Derek, what happens off the LPA Forums should stay off the LPA Forums. I don't think it's fair to use that against Casey since he and LJ play Halo 2 toghether and seem to be friends. ;)

    A website can't be perfect Derek. I'm sorry, it can't. LPA is not the worst ran website on the internet, but it has it's problems. And if you don't agree with me, then I might as well just kill myself right now.

    It's cause a warning usually has no consequences, while a forum warning may have some... So yeah, its meaning can be chosen...

    Didn't know that. I don't know why but I think I'm the only one who is a member (not apart of the admin team) who beleaves Will isn't strict as a admin but that's my opinon though.

    To your first paragraph, I think it comes down to two things: 1) High tensions from members feeling like they need to be harsh to be heard and 2) A few idiots who will just be harsh because that's what they're like.

    To your second paragraph, I agree that racism is an ugly thing, but I don't think what he said to LJ off-site should effect what happens to him here. You want to ban someone for racism on the forums, then ban away. But policing us off-forum too?


    Edit: I love how the most serious thread we've had in awhile is in Random Chat.

    The off forum policing 'policy' was only in place for a very short time after Jawknee was attacking the staff through his blog (I'm sure some of us remember that?). I don't think that will put back in place anytime soon/at all.
