That's because the only thing record labels care about is making money.

 

Even if people are flaming it's not like they aren't being unconstructive. Todd's pointed out how silly their lyrics are as one of his reasons for disliking them, fair enough, whereas other people might like that about them which is, again, fair enough. What happened to being able to debate? I look back at old posts and miss that element to the boards, how people actually used to disagree about music here and discuss that, and it's kind of a shame how a lot of the time now you start a thread and it's just people who like the subject replying.
Basing your opinion of someone as a person purely on one band they listen to is harsh, true. I mean I listen to Brand New and Radiohead, but it doesn't mean I always mope about being from a white middle class family and how I'm bipolar and have girl problems from time to time. But still. People might dislike the band and you can tell them to screw off and just listen to one they do like or whatever, but likewise you can't say they don't have the right to air their opinion just because they don't agree with you.


It's just a fucking band though, and not even a serious one at that. Everyone shouldn't get so emotional.

And Will; big labels like Warner, yeah, probably. Fortunately they don't really matter as much anymore.
