Disturbed didn't drastically change but they haven't been Nu-Metal since their second album. Their change wasn't as drastic as LP's but they went from Nu-Metal to Hard Rock essentially. Plus their new album went #1 on the billboard 200 I'm pretty sure, they got nominated for their first ever grammy award, and they sell out amphitheaters on a regular basis.
Consider me wrong, then. My bad, I just listed them due to how many people always cite them as a counterpoint to LP nowadays. I just remembered their Sound of Silence cover and it was great. So yeah, not Disturbed. Hollywood Undead is a much better example.
Limp Bizkit is the best example I think because HU never got insanely big to begin with like Disturbed and Limp Bizkit
Is it weird that this polarizing reaction with the fanbase has made me more excited to hear this album?
It's fine until they incorrectly use timpani drums. And for no reason too. Those timpani drums make the musician in me so sad. THAT'S NOT HOW YOU USE THOSE.
All the things they give us through the LPU, all the bonus stuff like LPA exclusive interviews, making of videos, live transmissions answering questions, that fucking awesome acoustic live in facebook, etc... and people still come here saying they don't care about the fans? FUCK. They don't need to ask us what music they should make, it's their band, not ours, we didn't compose all those awesome songs, including the nu metal ones that are so praised to death. It was all by them, and they can do whatever they want with it.
Before posting a reply on LPA, I honestly feel there should be a pop-up which says "Have a read back through what you've just typed out. Have a think. Do you reeeeaaaaalllllly believe what you've just said? Really?"
Yes I am one of these that says any of those joke versions was better than the actual release of "Heavy" we got. And sure it would be exciting to hear a 2017 nu metal version of LP. But at the same time I think it would suck. I am sure that if it was made, 99% of those fans that want HT era LP to be "back" would call them try-hards or simply say that that "style" sucks. Again, I am not saying they should do "this style" or "that style" but at the same time, I don't like the direction of "Heavy" at all. So for the lack of a better term, do anything, just not this.
I'll check it out some time then! Completely agree, the songs from MALL are amazing. Obviously we won't get anything like White Noise but something like It Goes Through, Devil's Drop, or The Last Line would be fantastic.
If anyone is really pissed at this then they need to pull their head out of their ass, wipe the shit from their eyes and lighten the hell up. Seriously, some people are beyond help.
