I'm not sure I can really explain it and have it make sense. Supposedly a lot of the storyline elements mirror elements from Hamlet (and "Letham," Henry's last name, is an anagram of "Hamlet"). Aside from that, as far as I can tell, Henry suffers from survivor's guilt while he's dying on the bridge. When the dude and the chick (I forget their names) come over, Henry creates a COMPLETELY fictitious world in his mind while he's dying. He places himself in the role of the dude, but also as himself, an outsider, looking in at the relationship the dude has with the chick. He tries to see if he can help himself subconsciously to deal with losing his girlfriend (and basically his whole family), which is why there are a lot of times where their actions coincide or seem like they're the same thing. When he kills himself at the end, that's him deciding that it's OK that he's dying because he'll get to be with his girlfriend and family forever afterward. It's really hard to explain, I think. But I think that's what made it so great to me. It's open to so much interpretation.
I listed it only because I thought it was highly overrated. I watched it not expecting much from it, and I just thought it was bad. I had to force myself to keep watching it just to see the creature. Here are some more: Starship Troopers 2 Poseidon (The original was so much better) The Arena Final Destination Final Destination 2 Final Destination 3 The Day After Tomorrow The Exorcism of Emily Rose Godzilla (The American version) House of Wax (The new one with Paris Hilton)
Epic Movie, the only movie I've ever walked out on. Irreversible, I couldn't watch it totally, apparently in the first 30 minutes they add this wave of sound that makes you go nauseus, and nauseus I was. Cloverfield, again I couldn't watch it, it gave me a headache, all that fast camerawork, jeez. And I'm with Will on all the Tarantino movies, to me it's one big joke and I feel like I'm wasting my time. Oh and also, I've never been able to watch a complete Tarantino movie without falling asleep, I'm not kidding.
You guys haven't seen nothing lol. Watch Jane Austen's Mafia! (1998). It's about the only movie I've ever stopped watching. If I remember correctly, it has a 5 minute barfing scene at a funeral.
I don't know why I listed Cloverfield actually. I didn't really like it and I think it relied on gimmicks but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of worse films I've seen. Probably just because that was one of the more recent films I didn't like. AVP is probably the worst, or one of them, considering what a waste it was.
tons of'em ..! but can't really think of any except "the grudge" .. man, that was one heck of an awful lame movie ..!
