Thanks for the idea, the results will be youtubed immediately. who needs two singers when you have Opeth? err, anyways. try 3 Inches of Blood. and Opeth. even though Opeth doesn't have more than one singer. but when you have Akerfeldt, who needs two?
I pitched the idea to a couple acquaintences of mine, and it got a lukewarm reception. okay, so. I much prefer old Suffocation over Cannibal Corpse. if you don't know who Suffocation is, go buy Effigy of the Forgotten. it's...good.
I was actually thinking of a contest where whoever wants to try films it, and whoever lasts longest gets a Mars bar if I can afford one.
Atreyu, Caliban, All that remains, Avenged Sevenfold, As I Lay Dying, SoilWork some (most) of these have only one singer, but one who can scream and sing normally
Is it just me, or is Throwdown trying entirely too hard to sound like Pantera? Except not as good, of course.
...amazing point. he's more genius than like...Mozart. That's OLD, isn't it...? Blackwater Park...? whatever happened to Morningrise? Throwdown doesn't sound anything like pantera to me... Because of the same reason people put down Cryptic Writings and The Black Album. Pre-Roots was amazingly good, with harsh vocals, speedy riffs and double bass drums. Roots hits, and then they detune and Max starts screaming wildly with slow grooves. They went from death, to thrash, to groove, to complete nu-metal. They seem on their way back though, Derrick Green is surprisingly not that bad.
http://www.myspace.com/dillingerescapeplan New song up, Fix Your Face. EDIT: http://rapidshare.com/files/54393061/Dillinger_Escape_Plan_-_Fix_Your_Face.mp3 And yeah, I never really paid any attention to Bury Your Dead until I heard their last album the other day... not even the fact that they share their name with the title of a song by one of my favourite bands, heh.
Their new stuff does. Listen to the song Holy Roller to see what I mean. I also liked Roots, though, I think it pales in comparison to BTR or Arise. Chaos A.D. was their last "great" album with Max. As far as Derrick Green goes... I've been on his bandwagon since Nation, which I think about ten people on the planet actually liked. @Dean: Holy shit, that new Dillinger song is awesome. I have a feeling Ire Works may be an album of the year candidate.
I've only listened to the songs from their split with Boris... any recommendations? Yeah, I agree on both counts.
Altar is probably the best Sunn O))) album, even though it's a collaboration album with Boris. Other than that... most likely Black One. It's a fucking evil album.
