    Vulgar Display of Power
    Individual Thought Patterns
    or any Opeth album.

oh and yes, Emperor fucking rules...the only black metal band I like.

    @ Dean - you're right, it is fantastic...but I think it's more punk geared.

Is the Daath album any good? I've been thinking of getting it, and the second mention of Death reminded me.

The new Daath is a really good record but I'd recommend you pick up some Arsis or (more) Morbid Angel before you think of touching Daath.

All right, all good. I'll think I'll have to go to the HMV an West Edmonton Mall for this selection. Just curious though, what Emperor albums do you have, Testament? Because if you don't have either Anthems or In The Night Side Eclipse, go get them, they are possibly the two best Black Metal albums ever. They did a good Death Metal cross-over album too...

Nocturne is a great album, but I can't stand All That Remains, and so Protest the Hero is probably the one on that list I would buy, if it's cheep.

Oh, an is the new Despised Icon better then the old one? Because the later was a huge disappointment, but their new singe is kick ass.

Yeah, the Still Remains album is in a similar vein to Wax Walls...

And I'd second the recommendation on Kezia, it's an excellent album.

The deciding factor for this will likely be how many CDs I can buy on a $70 budget:lol:

I have In the Night Side Eclipse, that and Mayhem's De Mysteriis are the only black metal albums I care for.

At HMV that can get you about 2 CDs

    Clayman is a classic.

Meh, I've gotten 3 for around $70. But what really pisses me off is that the pop stuff is so cheep, but Metal is expensive, because they know that the devoted fan base will pay for it. And does De Mysteriis live up to it's hype?

It's an obvious classic, and well worth whatever you pay for. But, the only glaring thing that you'll hate probably is the AWFUL production.
