Here are rumoured track lengths: 1 A Vicarious Atonement (7:21) 2 Tetragrammaton (16:43) 3 Vermicide (4:17) 4 Meccamputechture (11:04) 5 Asilos Magdalena (6:36) 6 Viscera Eyes (9:25) 7 Day Of The Baphomets (11:58) 8 El Ciervo Vulnerado (8:59) This was posted on the Comatorium a little while ago from discogs.com. Since the track length of Asilos is correct its probably safe to say that the other lengths are accurate too!
Judging from the new song that leaked, I can see this album being more like De-Loused with Frances The Mute's sound structre. As in, less ambient noise, but the tracks are all connected to sound like one album. And the new single has lyrics from a Hamburg Drunkship jam, so I expect more parts from the Drunkship Jams from the past 05 and 06 shows to be on the album.
Man, Vermicide is extremely good. I love every second of it. That solo towards the end is great and the chorus is brilliant.
I'd like to wait for the release, but even if I don't, I'd rather listen to the album as a unit from start to finish rather than random songs out of place. I'll at least wait for the full album leak. I'll be buyiing the album either way. Unless they decided it'd be hilarious to make a full record of Linkin Park covers or something.
That artwork looks really cool but do you know what it represents ? Because they always have a meaning for stuff they make, don't they...
I'm sure they have a meaning, I just don't understand it a whole lot. To me, this artwork kind of represents the government, or authority, like the church (since the titles seem to be religious) trying to hide other cultures or history, trying to cover things up (with a blanket) and hide them in their facilities (the hangar in the background) but I'm probably looking at it way to literally for the Mars Volta. and yeah, Vermicide is good. after listening to it three more times, it's like crack.
Yeah I'm impressed with Vermicide too! It sounds a bit more catchy while retaining the Mars Volta vibe!
I think that could be a quite accurate discription from what I can seen on that picture, it'll probably mean what you said too. Or maybe we should just wait untill they explain it.
well I was planning on writing some kind of first impressions review of the record, but Day of the Baphomets just pummeled me into such an aural oblivion that I feel I kind of need to take a nap.
