Sometimes I feel like he misses the point of certain albums. And honestly I think he's the "anti" NIN fan. I mean he thinks The Slip was the amazing comeback album. I like the Slip but really? I don't think he was harsh but I think this style of Trent really isn't his thing.
I've been busy. And unfortunately not. They played a small venue quite close to where I live last month. It was a warm up show for Reading/Leeds and tickets sold out within a few minutes. It's a shame, but I saw Alice In Chains at the same venue a few years ago and still intend to see NIN live some time so it's not all bad.
Listened to The Downward Spiral yesterday and The Fragile today. I don't think Hesitation Marks quite has that epicness quality to it, but the music could very well be better. Actually I'm almost positive it's better since he's had 19 and 14 years since those albums came out to improve his abilities. The music is just so different it's hard to tell.
Really in-depth article that all of you should read. http://www.thefader.com/2013/09/23/nine-inch-nails-oral-history-interview/
I listened to about 30 hours of Hesitation Marks, The Downwards Spiral, and The Fragile last week. I'm still not hearing as strong of a theme in HM like I am with the other two, and it kind of takes away from the experience. I think HM could very well have better songs, but I think I enjoy the experience of TDS and The Fragile more. I don't even know if that makes sense. I like listening to HM more, but I have a deeper experience with the other two. Either way, they're all fucking top notch and so fucking different from each other.
I get what you're saying. I prefer TDS and TF all around but I'm picking up what you're setting down.

Why does that amazing part in "In Two" (1:15–1:25) only show up once?
IMO, "In Two" is the only song that is actually improved by the addition of the female backing vocalists for live performances.
