I will defend that ending as well. One explanation I've heard is that it was a dream (a really long dream ) that embodied all of Tomoya's fears for the future, something he didn't care an awful lot about before meeting Nagisa. I half buy it, but it's not one I'll stand by. I like to think of it as WTF-ery that did actually happen, and while I don't usually like fantasy in my slice-of-lifes, I enjoyed it immensely. Better still, I like to think that Tomoya and maybe Nagisa remember the whole thing.
Well, fair enough. Still, it seems like you enjoyed it more than you initially thought you would. Ha! ...Curses! Can't say I've heard that theory before. I'd have to go with the standard interpretation as well, although it didn't seem like anyone retained their memories at all.
I mean we didn't exactly have many episodes afterward hinting whether they did or not, save the Tomoya half hour recap.
Yeah, that's what I was referring to. He remembered the events that were erased, but seemed half-convinced that they were some sick dream of his or something. In my interpretation I'd like to think that's the case. Imagine having memories of yourself dying during childbirth? Nagisa would be traumatized forever.
Just learned that Key is debuting a new anime based on another of their visual novels (like Clannad, AIR TV, Kanon) in October, called "Little Busters!" I'm fangirling so hard right now.
Sooo watching it. It seems a lot of Visual Novel to Anime adaptations have been pretty great lately. (Clannad, Steins;Gate, etc) Wish American game to series-movies were as good.
Steins;Gate is deep sci-fi, solid story and mind-bending progression. Different from Clannad but just as good.
I am currently watching Samurai Champloo with English dub. SC was the first anime i saw many years ago with my cousin. I'm also a big fan of DeathNote. Other then that, i really enjoyed clannad, kannon, Chobits, angel beats, digimon and pokemon.
I do love me some sci-fi. I'll be adding that show to my "must watch" queue. You've got great taste in anime so far. I love nearly all those shows! Apparently. XD
Ohhhhh....Chobits, eh!?
I haven't watched Chobits in years... Watched the first 3 episodes of ToraDora. It's just okay so far... We should have an LPA Anime Night similar to Movie Night.
