Not necessarily a favourite, but definitely holds a lot of nostalgic value.

This is an ending, not an opening but still a favorite.

Sakamichi no Apollon just gets better and better with every episode. I can understand how the first episode would put off new viewers though.

I think the creator said he actually had an ending written out (s)he's just waiting for the right time to release it.

So despite the fact that these are a bit more 'mainstream' anime, anyone here like Bleach or Fullmetal Alchemist?

Bliss - You give Totoro 9, but Grave of the Fireflies 10? What is wrong with you?! xD Kidding.. No but Srsly... Grave of the Fireflies is just depressing... Totoro is happy and cute! xD Spirited Away is great, but not as great as Totoro! (Studio Ghibli though <3<3)

Grave of the Fireflies is the only movie to ever make me cry. Totoro was amazing but had a cheesy ending. Grave of the Fireflies was just produced in such an intricate and fantastic way and I felt more connected to the characters of that movie than almost any movie I have ever seen before.

and yes Studio Ghilbi is awesome.

LOVE both. I used to hate Fullmetal, but you really have to stick with it. Bleach has been cancelled. The quality really took a dip due to the edits and liberty the animation studio took. I still follow the manga which is getting EPIC right now. Anyone who loved the anime should definitely follow the manga. It's much better.

And Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime. I play the music for people and they can't believe it's from an anime. Every single soundtrack is wonderful and the anime is beautifully written.

Edit: Can't forget about Rebuild of Evangelion. The new animation is great and it's just as creepy as ever.

As a huge fan of jazz, Shinichiro Watanabe and Yoko Kanno, There was no way I WASN'T going to like Sakamichi no Apollon. Amazing anime.

Apparently the creator of the original manga is drawing/writing up a sequel. Hoping that gets an anime adaptation as well.

    *REVIVED!!!*

Anyone got some good, slice-of-lifey series lately? Don't care if it's got some fantasy or sci-fi elements mixed in, don't care if it's school life or comedy or drama or harem. I just need my fix.

Except no incest. Or the one where all the love interests kill each other at the end (forgot the name).

Is that answer a recommendation or to that last bit? Because I'm pretty sure that's the one I was thinking of where they all die.
