I’m not at liberty to name said band yet as it hasn’t been officially announced, but funny story: The last album I bought was from a fairly popular Minneapolis band on Bandcamp. By sheer coincidence, the band ended up having auditions for a new bass player like a week later. I ended up getting hired. The last band I bought an album from is now the band I play in.

I have been recently revisiting Opeth, and noticed that for whatever reason, I had all of their albums on CD but two, so I got one of them! Watershed is a particularly interesting record, as it seems to be a bit divisive amonst fans. It was a signal of the change in sound Opeth were going to make, but it wasn't 100% there yet. It still maintains the death metal sound they're known for while being prog as FUCK. It's almost a progressive rock record in death metal clothing. It's always been a favorite of mine, and has some of the best songs they've recorded.
Si Phili one half of legendary UK Rap group Phi Life Cypher (the other being Life MC) finally released his first solo album in 2016! I didn't have a copy yet (used to listen to it on Spotify) so I bought it on his bandcamp page. This is really good. He always stood in Life MC's shadow kinda, but not anymore. He's just as good imo.
This came out early this month, and I finally decided to go for it, Part 1 (of 4) of Devin Townsend's "Eras" box-set. This box-set comprises the 4 original albums in the "Devin Townsend Project" series, two of which have never been released on vinyl before. I figured I'd get it because if I wait any longer, they'll sell out, as they're are only limited to 2000. The set contains the albums Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction, and Ghost, all playing in various styles and genres. One's a new age record, one a symphonic metal record, one a pop metal record, and one a blues rock album. The guy is so immensely talanted. I only have one of Devin Townsend's albums on vinyl, so this should make a significant addition to my collection of his on vinyl.
Devin Townsend Project - Ocean Machine: Live at the Ancient Roman Theatre, Plovdiv (3CD/DVD) Devin Townsend - Eras II (8LP) Vinyl box-set. Contains: Ocean Machine Infinity Physicist Terria Synchestra
just ordered Living Things on vinyl. considering getting OML Live on vinyl. $55 free shipping is a hefty price to pay though. might be worth it considering the sentimental value, limited pressing, and gold color
Try to wait and see if they'll repress it, or if any online retailer has it (had to dig deep to find mine). Ordering one for that price just lets the scalper profit off of it. However, you make the final call. If you really want it, go for it! I feel like an exception can be made for this one.
