Two Arcade Fire records. Funeral, and Reflektor. I've also recently pre-ordered the "Night" version vinyl of their upcoming record, Everything Now.
Leaf Dog - Dyslexic Disciple (Bandcamp purchase) A great modern rap album that already sounds like a classic. I love Leaf's soulful beats.
Last new album? Imagine Dragons - Evolve Most recent purchase? A limited edition pressing of Lifehouse - No Name Face on vinyl.
Bought NIN's The Fragile: Deviations 1, and the 2017 pressing of Porcupine Tree's Fear of a Blank Planet. Both on vinyl.
4 Avril Lavigne albums, I've been a lot into her music lately, just reminded me how I liked her song Wish You Were Here, which everyone at my school was listening to at that time, such a powerful ballad and also some of her classics, she's certainly one of the most talented Canadian singers ever, probably the first great act of the 2000s. Avril Lavigne- Let Go (2002) Genres: Alternative Rock, Pop Punk, Post-Grunge Best Songs: Complicated, Sk8er Boi, I'm With You Worst songs: none, just lesser known, but not bad Avril Lavigne - Under My Skin (2004) Genres: Post-Grunge, Alternative Rock Best Songs: My Happy Ending, Nobody´s Home, Don´t Tell Me, Fall to Pieces Worst songs: He Wasn´t Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing, 2007 (probably her worst record, even though it has some great songs) Genre: Pop Punk Best Songs: When You´re Gone, Innocence, Keep Holding On (one of her best slow songs) Worst Songs: Girfriend, The Best Damn Thing (I don't get those songs really, not even Girlfriend, which is her most successful single) Avril Lavigne - Goodbye Lullaby (2011), her best record, on a slower pace, but I think she is so much better with slower songs Genre: Pop-Rock Best Songs: Wish You Were Here (for me her best ever), What The Hell, Smile, Alice, Push, Everybody Hurts Worst Songs: none, I think it´s here most consistent effort to date
Yoooo Outside of your dislike for He Wasn't you are spot on with all of this. I even agree with your best songs for each album outside of Complicated! I like you
Thanks It just feels so refreshing to be back to Avril's stuff (buying her albums and all that) and already anticipating her new album later this year. He Wasn't for me as I said in other post is kind of Paramore done wrong, even though they came after and were inspired by Avril's style and music. I'll do my review of her self-titled album when I buy it, I think only in September or so, I still have to buy some LP live albums and last Nightwish album, but the worst songs from that one may be Hello Kitty (why J-Pop for Avril if she already sells a lot in Japan?) and Bitchin' Summer (pointless one). I like all the others, Let Me Go (very good idea to sing with her former husband) and Here's to Never Growing Up (a lot of sing-along potential) are probably my top ones and I also like Rock N Roll (very edgy), Bad Girl feat Marylin Manson (great song for a movie I saw, Suicide Squad, she'd have done a great Harley Quinn role, she has that crazyness) and Hello Heartache (she's one of the most talented singers for slow songs, just like Amy Lee and that songs flows great with the album)
Honestay felt her last album could have been better. It wasn't bad but it wasn't up to participate with her other first two albums and Goodbye Lullabye. Way, way better than The Best Damn Thing though.
I agree with all that and I hope this new one will be a bit more personal and tell a bit of how bad she felt when fighting Lyme disease, with many slow songs, she does that just right and she's one of the best pianists of the past decade along with Amy Lee and a great acoustic guitar player so she could use a lot of that on the upcoming record. I woud also be very pleased with a song as emotional and heartfelt as Wish You Were Here, that one still makes me cry after 6 years.
Got copies of ABBA's Gold, and The Number of the Beast from Iron Maiden. I already own a vinyl copy of The Number of the Beast, but got the CD so I could have a digital copy. I already had a ripped copy of Gold for a long time from a library CD, but got this one because it is is remastered. Sounds hella better.
