The Mars Volta - Frances the Mute (CD) [thumb]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81kn7TYmHAL._SL1500_.jpg[/thumb] An acclaimed Prog Rock group that I'm yet to get into. I saw the CD at a record store, so I bought it on a whim. I also downloaded the digital single "Frances the Mute" that apparently was meant to open the album, but cut because of the label or something, so I added it to the beginning of the album. iTunes has a nifty feature where you can combine many tracks into one, so I did so for Cassandra Geminni, since it's supposed to be 32 minutes long, but was split into 8 tracks.

Some stuff I've gotten over the past few weeks: ABBA - S.O.S. (7'' Single) My all time favorite ABBA song. If seemed fitting to pick up a vinyl copy of it. Aerosmith - Sweet Emotion / Dream On (7'' Single) This one was a special single. Their two best songs on each side? Hell yeah! AC/DC - Back in Black (LP) Found this bad boy for only 3 bucks! The packaging might be a bit shit, but the vinyl itself plays fantastically. Camel - Mirage (LP) A Prog Rock essential. The fact that they were only selling this for 10 bucks is a CRIME. An album I've been looking for for a looooooonnnng time. Devin Townsend Project - By a Thread - Live in London 2011 (4DVD/5CD) This is now the crown jewel of my Devin Townsend collection! A 9 disc live set, that includes 4 concerts peformed in 2011, each playing one of the four albums in the "Devin Townsend Project," Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction, and Ghost. Since there are such limited copies, they usually sell between 400-600 bucks now, but I got it for 130! Still quite a bit of money, but the peformances are so insanely good, that it is worth the price.
^^ That looks damn impressive Gibs! Also love the back In Black Vinyl, one of my all time favourite albums! I only own the remastered digipack - version though My last two bandcamp purchases: Defeated Sanity - Chapters Of Repugnance ... probably the most ferocious and brutal album ever! This shit totally rips. The jazzy bass lines simply make this more outstanding. Especially within Brutal Death Metal where everything tends to sound very samey. Can't wait for their new one to drop on Friday. Vulvodynia - Cognizant Castigation ... this is Slam Death Metal done right. Brutal, a bit technical at times and not boring one bit. Their following two albums are awesome, too.
Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve (CD) Peter Gabriel - So (LP) Due to a points system CD Unvierse has, I got this Peter Gabriel album for free!
Today: Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein - Stranger Things, Vol. 1 (Digital) Over the Past Few Weeks: Dream Theater - Octavarium (CD) Dream Theater - Train of Thought (CD) Dream Theater - Metropolis, Part 2: Scenes from a Memory (CD) Genesis - Foxtrot (LP) Toto - Toto IV (LP)
Sorry for the double post. Here's some background to this post. Went to a thrift store and found a Black Eyed Peas album I was going to buy and I double checked inside to make sure the disk was in there. It turned out that instead of the BEP album Hybrid Theory was in the case for whatever reasson. At the same thrift shop was Live In Texas. However, only the DVD was there and the CD was missing. Because of an empty slot and Hybrid Theory already in the wrong case, I moved it to the empty slot in Live In Texas. Now I have two copies of Hybrid Theory and a DVD only Live in Texas Today's Purchases: Coldplay- Mylo Xyloto Jason Mraz-Waiting For My Rocket to Come John Mayer- Continuum Linkin Park- Hybrid Theory (In LIT case ) Linkin Park- Live in Texas (DVD only) Edit 6/13: Halsey- Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (Deluxe) We should try to revive this thread @InGibible
These two have been my most recent purchases. Got this one last week. The remix and remastered version of The Contortionist's debut record, Exoplanet. The record is an excellent blend of Progressive Metal and Deathcore. Fantastic record, though their third record "Language," where they mostly drop the Deathcore stuff, is just brilliant. "Tidal" by Fiona Apple. Last month, I finally decided to get a subscription to Vinyl Me, Please, a service that sends an exclusive pressing of the "Record of the Month" to all of it's subscribers. I wasn't feeling the June record of the month, so I swapped it for this one. Excellent stuff.
Rise Against - Wolves Linkin Park- One More Light Traumatomy - Embodyment Of Excruciation Gorepot - All You Can Smoke
Scary Kids Scarying Kids- The City Sleeps In Flames on Vinyl. RIP Tyson Wanted the Black Inside Beer but it was sold out. Got the Clear Beer.
The last album I bought was One More Light, but next will most certainly be one Nightwish album, still haven´t decided between Once or Endless Forms Most Beautiful, but one day I´ll eventually have completed their discography.
