Self-explanatory – what was the last album you bought? I found some old threads, but I don't feel like reviving a thread that's last been posted 4 years ago. It can be CD, vinyl, digital, or anything, just not pirated. You can post the album's cover, a comment on the album, even a review; do what you want. ~ To kick the thread off, I last bought an album yesterday, and I'm talking Paramore's third record, Brand New Eyes (2009).
Reanimation digipak + Collision Course CD/DVD digipak. Waiting til I got all my LP to move on to others.
Meteora tour edition like two months back. Don't kill me . There's tons of cool stuff on the album that's not music. There's two cds , one with the songs from the album, the second one has the music videos in it. Now, its not much but then it was like "Wow I own BTH's music video!". Which makes me excited somehow considering the videos are shit quality. There's a making of Artwork video in it and a lot of other stuff that I forgot. So many other things I couldn't open because the links to them online are like 10 years old haha. When I ordered it I was sad that it wasn't the edition that came with carousel, high voltage, live versions etc. I also didn't know it came with BTH's music video. The site only said Numb, faint & SIB. So, when I got it I was super pumped! I was in a really shitty mood before I got the album and it went away. I seem to always have experiences like this with albums.
Opeth - Morningrise (Bought Digitally for about 5 bucks) It's certainly not one of their best albums, it being only second within their lengthy career. It still contains the extremely raw/lo-fi production that was found on their debut album Orchid, released one year prior. However, what sets it apart from that album is the improved songwriting found here, despite the atrocious 20 minute Black Rose Immortal, which Opeth fanboys foolishly proclaim to be their best song. Along with this, Morningrise to me sounds like it planted the seeds for what would develop into their signature sound on their next album My Arms, Your Hearse, and for that, I can really appreciate Morningrise.
Unfortunately The Hunting Party. I say that not because THP isn't great, just because that means I haven't bought anything else in a while.
The last album I downloaded was The Hunting Party: Acapellas + Instrumentals. The last albums I bought physically: the System of a Down studio albums (self-titled; Toxicity; Steal This Album!; Mezmerize; Hypnotize), Alice in Chains' Facelift & self-titled, Animals as Leaders' debut and the Rage Against The Machine Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium CD (all in one purchase).
Got these two beauties. Both on sale at Best Buy for $7. It was an impulse buy for Crosses, and I think the first time I've bought an album without ever hearing anything from the artist, prior to purchase. Same here with THP, but I'm aiming to buy LIGHTS' "Little Machines" once it comes out September 23rd.
