I can't understand why for the last two album cycles, the vinyl has had the far superior album artwork. It's happened with LIVING THINGS and now with The Hunting Party. Why not just put out the better artwork to begin with?
that, my friend, is called marketing and greed. Most people will say "WOW! COOL COVER! I HAVE TO BUY THIS!" And although some people might not buy the album for the cover the first time, they do for the music.
Man, that's how THP's cover should have looked! Amazing! That's somehow similar to the thing with the missing lyrics in the standard CD (and even the DVD special edition) The music is awesome, but I hope they will do the "framework" better in the next cycle.
Really though, is that a hunter wearing an ornamental hat or does that guy really have spikes and flowers for a face? And why is his skin peeling off? Is he a monster or a ghoul? The image is amazing and looks super 'visceral' and badass but what exactly is going on in there? Doesn't make a lot of sense.
According to Amazon UK release on Sept 15 (my birthday) however, it's an import so est. delivery is the 26th
It is probably a monster of some kind. If you check out the "Rebellion" cover art you can see that same figure taking cover behind a mask. The flower thing is too abstract for me to discern.
Noooo way. Original LT artwork is way better than the vinyl copy. It ruined the vinyl for tbh that alt. cover.
Apparently, much like Living Things, there is going to be a white version available: https://shop.jbhifi.co.nz/music/pop-rock/hunting-party-the-2lp-white-vinyl-125gram/79892
