There was also an interveiw with Mike saying that they had 12 songs left to mix and we know that at least GATS and UIG have been mixed already so maybe there are 14 songs or more. Let's just wait until we get actual confirmation before trying to pass of things as fact.
I wonder if that statement can be divided exactly by 2 brain hemorrhages. You know, because what you said sure was odd.
I sure would like 16 or more songs, but I don't remember Mike saying there were 12 more that needed mixing. If so, we have at least 14. The list of the song tempos and keys from a few months ago had like 22 demos on it so I don't think it will be any more than that, some had to have been scrapped.
It's mentioned in the loudwire album preview but it's not a direct quote so who knows. http://loudwire.com/early-preview-linkin-park-the-hunting-party/
I'm just hoping you guys aren't expecting a heavy version of A Thousand Suns. I can see this being pretty radio ready with the exception of like 3-4 long songs tops.
I'm not sure that "Guilty All The Same" gives any kind of indication that "The Hunting Party" will be "a heavy version of 'A Thousand Suns'"
Honestly, the band's attitude this time around reminds me of their attitude during the ATS time period. I don't think the album will sound like ATS (obviously) but it might have interesting song structures and cool things going on. It seems like it will definitely be the most rock driven album by LP because of all the apparent guitar solos going on and the fact that the band has said it's heavy like 20 times now.
It is cool that the band is so aggressively pursuing this particular sound/direction/approach. I do think that that's kind of "A Thousand Suns"-esque.
Guys, this is obviously A Thousand Minutes to Midnight. But seriously, this album is just going to be a heavy MTM, with the experimentation of ATS.
