I'd say no. Yes, it's a terrible occurrence that should have been and could have been avoided completely, but it's not going to cause extinction of ocean life on a scale that will greatly affect mankind. And yes, I know everyone on the coast is being affected by it, and the oil will continue to affect the marine and animal life of the area for years to come, but this does not signal the end of mankind. As a matter of fact, the leak has been stopped, if only temporarily, so that they can come up with a much more permanent solution to the problem. P.S. BP fellates flaccid Equus Asinus genitals.
