ALITS is indeed overrated, just because it puts together a lot of different elements of LP's music and is their longest song. it doesnt mean its great. besides mike's soft part, the rest feel forced to me, the heavy part feels like it was done to impress the fans and show that they can do a song like that. and the lenght doesnt feel as natural as TLTGYA
The Little Things Give You Away is my favorite. I love the way it builds into the explosive climax. A Line In The Sand probably would have been my vote had the initial build been a little less sudden.
1. The Messenger 2. The Little Things Give You Away 3. Pushing Me Away 4. Numb 5. Powerless 6. A Line in the Sand
I went with A Line in the Sand. I'm still amazed that LP could pull off such a heavy yet conclusive song to end an album. Also, with the way the song ends, it might be able to loop back to the beginning of THP, symbolizing that the main conflict in the album has come full circle and could restart if the same events unfold. TLTGYA and Powerless both come quite close to being just as awesome yet I feel that they lack the intensity and finality of ALITS. I do like the other closing songs, though. If I were to choose a least favorite, it would be The Messenger, as this song only sounds good to me after going through ATS. It just seems out of place compared to the other closers in any context outside of ATS.
