Damn, I would've put In Flames' new album, 'Come Clarity' at the #10 spot, but that comes out in 2006.

2005 was a good year of music for me, personally. Hear is my final Top 10. I was surprised at how good the Taproot album was. Kudos to them.

    01. Coheed & Cambria - "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV"
    02. Dredg - "Catch Without Arms"
    03. Porcupine Tree - "Deadwing"
    04. The Mars Volta - "Frances The Mute"
    05. Opeth - "Ghost Reveries"
    06. M.I.A. - "Arular"
    07. Massive Attack - "Danny The Dog"
    08. Explosions In The Sky - "Rescue"
    09. Sigur Rós - "Takk"
    10. Taproot - "Blue-Sky Research"

2006 should be good. New Otep, Tool and hopefully we'll see, for the first time in history, a back-to-back (2005 to 2006) Nine Inch Nails release.

Good list Casey...I'm currently downloading the new Oceansize (Everyone Into Position) that from the first two songs you should really check out if you like Tool, Dredg, Porcupine Tree, Isis, and that sort of stuff. As well I still need to check out the new Sigur Ros album...after that I'll make a final list for 2005.

Edit: "Good Apollo" is your #1 pick? I found it to be very good at the start (Welcome Home and 10 Speed are awesome songs) but until The Willing Well I found few good surprises. Good release from Coheed but not enough to break my top 10...they may be an honourable mention!

Edit 2: Oceansize is also touring the UK/Europe supporting Porcupine Tree, just to give them a bit more cred! :p Also, a new The Mars Volta album is currently being recorded so that should be out by next spring!!

I've heard a little bit of Oceansize. Like, one song. They're good.

And the C&C album is mindblowing, to me atleast. I love every song on that album, and I know all the lyrics and everything. The Final Cut reminds me of a Pink Floyd song for some reason. I'd give it a few more listens if I were you, it easily broke my Top 10 and took Dredg & TMV off the #1 spot when they had them on my list.

Scabdates would be on my list if it wasn't a live album.
