Not necessarily. Either way, I don't see what's "horrendous" about it. I don't think the lack of JJ in the first film of what's probably going to be a series matters that much. Maybe he'll appear later on, but as it is for all we know Peter doesn't even work for the Daily Bugle yet. Besides, JK Simmons played him about as well as anyone could and it's not as though they're going to recast him. If anything, surely it's a good thing that a reboot happening so soon after the original series is taking a different approach. Spider-Man probably being different to the one portrayed by Tobey Maguire, Gwen instead of Mary Jane, actual webshooters, certain periphery characters not being there from the off, etc etc.
There's no way that stunt costume looks like the image on the first page of this thread. There's bright red everywhere, where the original one is darker and also looks more rough and modern. That stunt one looks like smooth spandex with bright paint on it lol.
^ As I've said before, the essential changes are there. Wherever the red and blue is, that is where the colors will be. All that is missing are the detailed webbing, and finalized eyepieces. Also if I remember correctly, the finalized suit is going to be in a spandex-like material. I'll comb the net for some info on that when I have time. As for what this suit resembles, I say it's closer to House of M: Spider-Man, not 2099. In any case, I personally think that the look of this costume is terrible, but I'm positive it won't detract from the film as long as we're presented with an amazing Spider-Man movie.
Yeah the suit looks bad because it's for the stunt man. The real thing will not be anything like that. Also, I'm cool with the idea of JJ not being in this one. We already know his shtick. This way, it gives more room to explore other aspects of the SM world.
Well I don't search such things very often. MTV has just posted this. Could be a year back if possible.
AStarkson: See last page. It's simply a stunt-suit for stuntmen. The original suit will be far far better.
Or so you'd like to think. Just as I have been touting for the past few posts, and as Dean has provided. All that is missing are the eyepieces, detail on the webbing, and the spit-and-shine of every frame in post production. The difference between Raimi's suit and Webb's is that this one needs some work to make it stand out. Raimi's suit looked solid even without the after-effects of post production. In that aspect, I think the suit is funny looking.
I don't think i'll like the design, no matter how shiny it is, I just don't think i'll like the new design, the color matching. It may be a stunt suit, but i don't think they'll use a completely different suit for this. It's all about details, and you can imagine what the official full suit will look like. Or maybe the suit we can see now is modified to do stunts. I do hope the new suit would be good. So Sony prove me wrong.
Well, the only part of it I personally had any problem with was how bright and saturated the colours seemed to be, but I figured it would probably look better in that respect after post-production, and if the last picture I posted and the very first one are right it will.
^Exactly. And, this is getting tiresome. So, just to emphasize one last time. What we see in that "stunt costume" is how the suit will appear. The reds and the blues are where they should be. The silver on the feet and the wrists will be there. Presumably, The only details that seperate the final suit from this "stunt suit" are the missing eye pieces and webbing on red. And yes. Glutes.
How can it be getting more tiresome for you? All I did was elaborate on a point about one way where it won't necessarily look the same in the final film. I'm pretty sure I acknowledged what you were saying more or less right away.
It's been getting tiresome for me because I've been hopping forum to forum discussing the suit's new look. Consequently, I've been having a few back and forths with certain members from forums outside of the LPA trying to knock it into their thick skulls about how the general layout of the suit's color and design are there. Yeah, geek fights online are awesome! lol. As such, I wasn't aiming anything at you directly Dean, I don't know where you got that impression. In fact, I agreed with the information you posted a few hours back about the concept of colour grading. And to elaborate on your post some more: And yes Travz21 I'm making assumptions, but I'm simply stating the obvious, or atleast what the scenario will be in the most likely of cases. It's not like anything I'm saying is far fetch'd lol. And for your viewing pleasure folks: A closer view of the *ahem.."Stunt suit". http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/4076/sman3.png http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/6571/sman4.png
Fair enough, sorry. In any case, I'm still pretty much fine with the costume as it appears there. I prefer it when the colours aren't as bright but it seems as though the darker shots are more like how it'll end up looking in the end anyway. And the silver parts on the feet look kind of strange but they aren't that big a part of it anyway.
