Definitely for the shot. Claw marks on his face, looks like he's had his ass kicked.

I'm generally not too excited about this film, I would love if the film rights went back to Marvel. But the suit looks good. Wirey & lean is how he's generally portrayed in the comics these days, isnt' it?

Yeah looks like they're going more for the modern day Spidey (thin) instead of the old one who used to be pure muscle.

I think if it is supposed to be a relatively realistic take on Spider-Man, it makes more sense for him to be kind of lean. I don't really have a problem with that.

There's scrawny and then there's "looks like he's malnourished."

This dude doesn't even look scrawny with the suit on. Malnourished? What?

Malnourished is a bit of an exaggeration. He's just pretty slim.

It honestly doesn't matter to me if he's not really muscle-bound. Pretty much the whole point of Spider-Man is that he's an everyman, by superhero standards at least.

That's not anywhere close to being malnourished. I think you need to see some kids who are actually malnourished before you start making exaggerations like this.

He is skinny, and i thought the costume was like...distorted. Looks kinda strange, but i'll have to judge until i see the full costume.
Judging his appearence in THE SOCIAL NETWORK, i can hardly believe how he could manage to play the role as Spider-Man. But he may surprise me for sure.

I don't really care about any of this as long as the new spider man movie doesn't have Kirsten Durst as Mary Jane being a hypocritical and jealous bitch of epic proportions and Peter Parker obsessing over her like she was the only woman in the whole world, needless the city, i will approve and will probably enjoy the flick.

Well excuse me for hyperbole. Either way, it doesn't scream superhero to me.

And also my brother is anorexic and looks only a little skinnier than this guy, so...

My brother isn't anorexic and he is as well... anorexia isn't defined by how big someone is, anyway. Also, I feel the hyperbole is lost a little bit if you say something like "there's scrawny and then there's looking malnourished", like there's a distinction between simply being scrawny and what Andrew Garfield is... but if it was just meant as hyperbole then fair enough.

I just think Spider-Man isn't really a character that should live or die by whether or not he's really tonk looking. If it were Superman or Wolverine or someone like that then maybe.

He's too cute for a Peter Parker and skinny for Spider-Man but I'm not hatin' because we'll never know Mr. Garfield might surprise us.

I like his new costume though. Too dirty, rugged and rawrrrr.

^ Yup, me too. You can actually see the webshooters in the picture. Very oldschool.

Webshooters add a bit of realism to this whole thing.
    Always a plus.

Yeah, the webshooters are a definite plus, seeing as it makes the whole process more natural than the previous series.

What there are web shooters now? Damn I really liked how they didnt have that in the last trilogy because I thought it added more realism to it, seeing how the spider bite gave him all other abilities of a spider

I think if he has webshooters it means there's an opportunity for them to spice things up by writing in situations where he runs out of web, or where he looses/damages the shooters.

On the other hand people always say that they're a step too far, because of how unlikely it is that someone would be able to synthesise a material like that, especially a teenager. Making the webbing organic is a pretty good catch-all way of explaining everything he can do.

My take is that I'd probably go for webshooters as long as there's a bit of an explanation.

I think for then to use web shooters he needs to big tanks of it on his back because if he can swing around the city all night with the 2 small capsules he had in the tv show I'm gonna call bullshit because you can fit that much web into something that fits on your wrist, and it last more then 5 strands

Yeah, they aren't that realistic anyway but if you want to get into the nitty gritty of how they work it would be just as bad if he had organic web, albeit in different ways. It just comes down to willing suspension of disbelief. It's not like it gets glossed over completely anyway, because I think there's been a decent amount of times where him running out of web or losing the shooters has been used as a plot device.
